10. Maybe nobody will notice the slide
from docu-truthiness to scareu-truthiness and back again.

Timing is everything.

2. Oh, crap.
I might just have to turn my teevee to face the wall. I'm so sick of him on the screen with the same 5 sentence rant he does all the time.

22. You're going to miss it.
He's going to announce the capture of Osama Bin Laden and ask Congress to designate a new National Holiday, Nov. 1st. We will celebrate the torture and stoning of Bin Laden live on FOX News at 8:00 p.m. EST.

and there are TWO games on, one at 7:00 and one at 10:00!

Gonna interrupt a MNF doubleheader to broadcast the Chimp?

5. He better not mess with football; lotsa p.o.ed people! Turn to
Discovery channel for thoughtful, alternative viewing.

Ted Koppel has a special on The Discovery Channel:

On Sunday night, you have an alternative.
Ted Koppel who is now on the Discovery Channel, is hosting a show regarding 911.
His topic premise is rather interesting.
Loss of liberties since 911 and questions if it has been worth it.
He made a point of saying that he was going to talk about things that might not have seemed important at the time...but now are of utmost importance. Also making the point that things that have seemed important at the time, turned out not to be so important.
Overall, I got the feeling that he seemed to have a free rein and planned on using it. I certainly hope so.
The way ABC is showing their colors, makes you wonder what exactly he knows.

Edited to add:
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/discovery/discovery-koppel ...
Ted Koppel begins his groundbreaking Discovery Channel series with a three-hour primetime special on the eve of the fifth anniversary of Sept. 11. Koppel's world premiere,The Price of Security, uses interviews with current and former administration members and military and security experts to explore the dilemma the government faces in the war on terrorism.

On one hand, the administration has national security as its first obligation and has been criticized for not "connecting the dots." At the same time, the government is being assailed by civil libertarians for undermining the freedoms on which the United States was founded. Koppel will also explore the growth of technology that makes it possible to collect and sort through detailed personal data. Commercial interests now track buying and travel habits, personal tastes and reading habits through credit card data and Internet usage. The broadcast examines the debate over whether there should be limits on how that information can be used by law enforcement to preempt terrorist attacks.

Following the broadcast of KOPPEL ON DISCOVERY: The Price of Security, Koppel will host a live town meeting at the National War College with 9/11 family members, civil libertarians, administration officials and members of Congress. The town meeting will involve not only people in the audience, but also people at home. Viewers will be given the opportunity to have their own questions answered by the panel at discoverychannel.com.

9. Does this speech
coincide with the empty 10 minutes at the End of Part One of ABC's docudrama I've heard about? If so, isn't that a bit blatant on ABC's part?

12. "Send in the Clown"
(apologies to Stephen Sondheim)

Hadn't heard of the 10 minute break, but it wouldn't surprise me.

"And where are the clowns
Quick send in the clowns
Don't bother, they're here."

Why give this asshole air time? Let him answer a few unrehearsed questions for once. I say he hasn't earned the time of day.

18. Oh, good. Another TRUTHINESS speech.
I'm sure the citizens will be waiting with bated breath, since recently this blabber mouth just can't stop talking for the cameras. He has become like one of those commercials that people instantly mute because they are so damned boring.

20. I just had a thought.
How about giving the "people" a chance to speak. One hour of uninterrupted bitching, uncensored and w/o commercials. Is that too much to ask for? Participants would be selected by lottery and each lucky person would be given one minute to speak. CBS, NBC, CNN are you listening?

21. Beautiful thought.
But given 1 minute? - I wouldn't know where to start or stop.

Bet the ratings would go through the roof, though - and no doubt you'd hear me cheering until hoarse.

23. You didn't expect him to let the anniversary of the date that made
his presidency for him to just slip by without some sort of celebration, did you? Without 9/11, Bush would have been a lackluster, one term president who would have already dropped off the radar.
