god DAMN all republicans! Fmr. EPA head blames *NYC*....
... for not telling its 9/11 workers to wear respirators.

Everyone, I presume, clearly recalls EPA chief Christine Whitman telling everyone how SAFE NYC was, how air pollution wasn't a concern? Then turn around and blame the city for not telling its workers what? For not telling them that you're a fucking sociopathic liar?

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

This year for my birthday, I'm gonna wish that every republican appointee and office holder get trussed up and every NYC-er gets five minutes alone with all of them they want.

6. The buildings were filled with asbestos for Christ sakes...
What did they think would happen? One little piece of that shit gets into your lungs and you're in serious trouble. When those buildings turned to dust, so did the asbestos and God only knows what else. I have been following the canine studies of the 9/11 dogs and many of them are dying from cancer. Is it any surprise that people would develop the same problems without proper protection?

My brother-in-law, who worked at the Pentagon, got neck cancer one year after the attack. I talked to him about the study on canines and he told me that many others in his pod had developed the same problem in the same area. In following the canine studies, I was mainly concerned with the possibility of DU exposure since the renovations would have removed any remaining asbestos from the Pentagon. However, many dogs from New York were developing all sorts of lung and throat related problems. I knew this was coming but more importantly the EPA should have known on 9/11. They have instruments that read the air quality, they know what's floating around out there. The lung problems alone are going to be catastrophic in a few more years, even with out the tragedy cancer will bring.

7. The INSTANT I saw that cloud chasing people, I said ASBESTOS
Edited on Fri Sep-08-06 01:16 AM by SoCalDem
Buildings were FULL of it in the 60's & 70's.. Asbestos was a "wonder" building material, It was EVERYWHERE..

Look at the gear people must wear to even remove a damned absestos-tile floor..and we are supposed to think that clouds of the stuff would somehow be "okay"..:eyes:

edit.. our grocery store was CLOSED for 2 days, and all employees had to sign release waivers when the tile floors were replaced...and we were nowhere near the removal...

9. Well of course!
It wouldn't be up to the Federal Agency that just might be in charge of such things as air quality to make anything beyond "isn't is a pretty day" announcements. It would be up to a city who's resources are stretched to make the call. My, my Christine we are truly a conservative - Conservative with the Truth.

12. Who did the testing?
Who controlled the release of the test results? And who fired the testing agencies that tried to warn the workers of potential hazzards?

15. Here's a link. The EPA did the testing.
http://www.cmmonline.com/news.asp?mode=4&N_ID=26381

HP Environmental Testing is mentioned in this article. They also did the testing in 1993 after the WTC bombing. HP was kicked off site for releasing information to protect the cleanup crews.

13. Someone put that into an ad to run about being able to
trust Republics to keep you and the world safe. That really has me steamed.

We need an ad with comments like to juxtapositioned against the lies as they were told on other occasions.

God damn them all to hell.

16. I Am SO Pissed . . .
Christie Whitless was on local New York TV this morning blaming Guliani. I do agree with her, but she is not blameless.

I work across the street from ground zero. After 9/11, we temporarily moved to New Jersey and came back into our building May of 2002.

I have been suffering with sinus problems with a constantly running nose since we have been back. Management claims that our building was thoroughly cleaned, but I am finding that hard to believe. Merrill Lynch, which is the next building over, came back to work a mere week later. I really feel for those folks.

Bottom line - fuck all Repukes!
