the House and one in the Senate? He's talking about Spector/Cheney bill in the Senate & a Cheney/Wilson bill in the House to permanently allow spying without oversight.

2. Is Cheney allowed to do that? I always thought the VP power
was limited to a tie breaking vote in the Senate. I didn't think he had the right to sponsor bills!!!!

5. But don't you think the Senators of both parties would be pissed?
Yet again, the Executive Branch is grabbing power from the Legislative Branch. I would think, especially the long term ones, would be really pissed about this!

8. In any other context....
i'd call this a baseless red-herring. Only currently sitting members of Congress (which does NOT include the v.p.) may introduce legislation. Of course, in our post-republic empire....who knows. Very scary.
