What was the name of the Reagan movie that Freepers objected to?
Remember, it was to air on CBS but they raised such a fuss it was aired on Showtime.

So, the freepers can't stand movies about their hero's life but have no qualms about docudramas (FICTION) about the tragedy that rocked our world and that tries to rewrite history to make distorted facts fit their mold and suit their political needs.

Someone explain this to me, would you please.

5. Was it that simple?
I just remember all the fuss the freepers made - I mean it might have some untruths about their hero or show in some bad light.

It's not like CBS claimed it was a docudrama and it dealt with some tragedy particular to his presidency like the Pan Am 103 tragedy in December 1988.

I just remember how pissed off the freepers were and now they are ridiculing us for trying to stop the "Path" fiction.

7. I believe that the key argument Righties made was the "kitchen table"
conversation Ronnie had with Nancy ... supposedly, the dialogue was something along the lines of him recognizing AIDS and praising it as the "Black Plague" for gays ...

Reichies complained that there was no "factual basis" for the conversation ... not on record ... so the entire thing was "a lie" ...

8. so one conversation about aids made the entire MOVIE
a lie, yet an admittedly created or fictionalized scene in a "docudrama" is just exercising creative license and the "docudrama" is not a lie?

I can never follow their logic and I wonder is it logic or justification.

thank you for your reply :hi:

2. "The Reagans." I think the fuss was NOT about how Nancy and Ron
were portrayed, but possibly about how Al Haig and Donald Regan were portrayed. Also, how Reagan was brow-beaten (is that a word?) into signing off on Iran contra. Shows Reagan being confused, and aids alarming him into making an ill-considered decision he later had no memory of. Didn't make the Reagans look bad, but did make the Reagan White House look bad.

6. CBS didn't call it a docudrama did they?
And they didn't show it on his birthday or anniversary of his death, did they?
