Do you believe that you are in any more danger from terrorists today
than you were in, say 1998, for example?

And if you do, how far are you prepared to go to stop this "threat"?

With the economic meltdown that is still accelerating, more people in poverty, fewer people with any meaningful health-care, millions of older people that have been forced back to work after their 401(k)s were looted, crumbling national infrastructure, a major city still devastated through sheer negligence, etc., etc. Just how much of a threat do you believe terrorists really are?

1. Yes. Unfortunately I'm afraid of the terrorists that are in our government
They are the cold-hearted bastards that I truly fear.

2. Fossil fuels are more dangerous to me than terrorists...

...does that answer your question?

4. Yes, and more than I was before 9/11...thanks to Bush

:grr:

All of the other threats you mention are just as real, and far closer to impacting many more people, than the terrorist threat. That said, the terrorist threat to us in the Northeast Corridor still feels very real five years later.

None of the very real threats you mention diminishes or negates any of the others; the entire collection, taken together, just shows how well and truly fucked this country is, thanks to Bush.

We could have used the HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS of dollars wasted in Iraq in making headway on all of them, especially Real Security, not this illusion we're being served, and Universal Health Care. Certainly even 300 billion wouldn't solve all our problems at a stroke, but Damn! It could certainly make a huge dent in some of them.

5. There are people who now have plans to exact retribution from us.
There is animosity where there was none before, we have a went into a culture which has a tradition based on exacting an eye for and eye and slaughtered and maimed several hundred thousand fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers. Not to mention the grievous insult we have given to religious icons and the fatwas issued on us. Sadly we will be hard pressed to defuse with diplomacy and reparations the hatred we have sown with our foolish Administration's policy of pre-emptive war.

The first step is obvious, however-Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeldt, Rice & Cabal to the Hague!

7. Are you aware that the idiot frat boy has withdrawn us from the ICC?
One of the many stories that seems to have escaped our "infotainment corps".

8. Give them the Neocons, and maybe they'll leave the U.S. alone.

9. I agree, if this is done very publicly with the proper humility
and, dare I say it, shame. The world wants us to be the good guys and therefore, will forgive us, if they believe we are sincere and take the steps necessary to avoid repeating the disaster that began the 21st Century.

6. The Neocon Politburo is the biggest threat, but...
it's also very true that there are a lot more places in the world than there used to be where holding an American passport is not something you want to advertise. Of course, you can pretty much lay the blame for that development at the feet of our government too, can't you?
