Meanwhile at Steve Jobs office.....
Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

So you think he would say something? How silly. How incredibly silly that the person that wields the most power at Disney/ABC is would not say a thing about this whole thing.

Exploitationer sell out. My, my, my!

5. Do the math ....
"Once the deal closed, Jobs became The Walt Disney Company's largest single shareholder with approximately 7 percent of the company's stock.<17> Jobs' holding in Disney will far outpace those of Eisner, who holds 1.7 percent, and Disney Director Emeritus Roy E. Disney, who holds about one percent of the company's stock and whose criticisms of Eisner included the soured Pixar relationship and accelerated his ousting."

More stock than Ol' Roy himself...not bad work if you can get it.

2. Steve ignores us at his peril...
I've been a happy customer of iTunes and iPod (upgrading with every new release). I can easily use Napster or a myriad of music download engines instead of iTunes.:grr:

11. Yes, and with that savvy, remains apolitical
he's sold off to the shareholder maxim of moderation or scare away investment.

I respect that, at least he's true to his wood, but really, to give the man a halo
and expect him to do anything in this political sphere...

27. i love that
somewhere i have to fit in rock and roll, drugs, sex and ice cream, family,
and hmmm... what are those other ones you mention? ;-)

Its job and career and self advancement before everything else, survival is the root benign enlightened self interest
darwinian crap yadahayayayadada.... :-) and we live in deconstructed propaganda disneyland, and half way
through this ride of corporate rantation,
the little car stopped... "the ghost going home with you" disappears, and all that
is left are people escaping from the mediocrity of their industrialized lives,
recovering the joy of youthful exploration, when they are contained in a soulless
culture of infinite war and enemies.

Its the united corporations of military america, and the peopel are somewhere
else on a different continent, and as the pentagon breaks way and floats off
in to the atlantic, will it sink like atlantis?

gave him the store and wanted him so badly to swing this type of deal with stock, again, just blue skying here, I would think that someone downstairs would take acall from him about the movie, if he voiced a concern.

But just plug that IPOD into you skull and keep whislting happy tunes, in a delusional sort of way.

"runs" Disney/ABC

Why not ask Steve who really runs the joint then, since he is obviously just flotsam and the corporate joke.

28. Okay, okay, enough of the back-and-forth bullshit! What is anyone DOING?
Has anyone in the thread contacted Apple or made their concerns known to Jobs or the Apple BOD? We went crazy when it was revealed that Apple's iPod manufacturer was guilty of slave labor conditions and half of DU immediately went after Jobs personally and swore he was complicite...but Apple quickly took up the issue with the factory and has, in fact, sued them over the labor issues. So, perhaps if we actually contact Apple and/or Jobs, we'll find they'll actually do something, just as we're demanding. But isn't it a bit premature to condemn anyone but the producers and ABC at this point? The parent companies hear about this stuff at board meetings and such, not as part of their day-to-day duties. So contact them and give 'em a chance to do something, for Pete's sake! Don't just hope they're reading DU at the moment you're ranting.

29. As you can see, many here do not agree with the Jobs/Disney
connection, so the minority that can see it are doing something about it.

This post raced to page two in record time. The devotees of Jobs made it so.

They see no connection, therefore onward to a Proctor and Gamble site to squawk.

32. How can any "devotees of Jobs" make a post fall off to page two?
Ignore it really, really hard? Does it fall off the page faster if people really, really hate it, as opposed to if it just doesn't draw enough responses...which, would, it seems, contradict your "rabid Jobs lover" theory, as as long as those rabid fans are posting, the thread stays alive. We can't make it fall off the page any faster just by ignoring it!
