AIR AMERICA'S SAM SEDER TAKES ON DISNEY!
TONIGHT - TONIGHT – TONIGHT

ABC/DISNEY BOYCOTT PROPOSED FOR INACCURATE 9/11 FILM

Tonight on Air America Radio's Majority Report, host Sam Seder takes on ABC/Disney for its promotion and planned showing of a "docudrama" created by right-wing political operatives about the September 11, 2001 attacks on our nation. ABC claims that the film is based on the 9/11 Commission's report, but a number of authorities have come forward in the last few days to decry inaccuracies and completely fictional depictions. The Think Progress blog, associated with the Center for American Progress, has documented many of the inaccuracies.

Sam Seder has been reporting the many rebuttals of the film's contents, but tonight he goes one step further. Tonight, at 7:45 PM Eastern time, Sam will interview national security expert Brent Budowsky, who has called for a boycott of ABC and Disney by all Americans outraged by the use of public airwaves to promote blatant falsehoods for political reasons. From Budowsky's post on The Huffington Post:

This is not about blame, but about integrity, honor, truth, dignity. About the responsibility of major American companies and major American media to treat such momentous events with the seriousness and elevation they deserve...

This is about respect for all of the survivors, widows and widowers, friends and neighbors and of all who we lost on 9-11, without any regard for the personal politics, whatever they may be, because on this occasion we should honor and love and stand with them all, and with each other.

If Disney does not pull this travesty, and persists in using the public airwaves, loaned to them as a public trust, I call for a complete and total boycott of all programs on ABC and all other Disney properties for a two week period.

This is actionable, this is real, this can make a difference and we should spread the word far and wide: either Disney and ABC honor this momentous national occasion in a manner that respects honor, integrity and truth or we will cease to honor Disney with our business.

Tune in tonight to hear the discussion. Call the show at 866-303-2270 to put your two cents in.

Post your comment on the Air America website, or on the Majority Report blog.

1. LUV Sam Seder
He was on MSNBC yesterday debating a wingnut on border security, saying the Rs have "cut and run" on the issue. Effin hilarious.

4. Awesome!
Good for Mr. Seder. I'm boycotting ABC and Disney permanently if they air this right wing crap. I've been boycotting Wal-Mart, Blockbuster, Coke products and a couple of other evil corps for years. What is one or two more?

6. Go, Sam, go!
Personally, I haven't watched ABC since Welcome Back, Kotter went off the air, and this gives me an excellent reason not to start now.

Disney is already on my list for various reasons.
