HARRY POTTER and the PATH TO NINE WUN WUN/SCHOLASTIC
Guess what? Scholastic, which plans on shoving horseshit down the throats of our children and calling it history, is the PUBLISHER of the HARRY POTTER franchise. Perhaps it is time to get ahold of the HARRY POTTER TEAM and let them know that we don't appreciate a children's fantasy being linked with a NEOCON fantasy. One of the AMERICABLOG commenters suggested this approach, and I thought it was worth passing on:

OK, http://www.jkrowling.com when you enter the sight, click on the pair of eyeglasses for “links” once you access the next screen you will see a bookshelf. Upper left, click on the book for Christopher Little. That is the Literary Agent. Might be nice to know what JK’s management team thinks of what Scholastic is doing to TARNISH the Potter name…

I provided that information to give full citation to this approach, but really, SKIP all that crap...because you get to this website after all of the clicking and waiting: http://www.christopherlittle.net/

This is Ms. Rowling's literary agent. There's a snail mail address on the contact page, a couple of UK phone numbers, and an email address, which is info@christopherlittle.net <info@christopherlittle.net>

Might not be a bad move to let that agent know that SCHOLASTIC is FUCKING their client by publishing vicious fantasy as truth, and it could impact the HARRY POTTER brand.

4. ABSOLUTELY--help spread the word on this--ABC just announced they
are not gonna change ANYTHING, so we need to beat the hell out of the sponsors/advertisers, the Disney Parent, Scholastic, and any other aspect that will give them a hit to gut money-wise.

5. Yes! Money talks and swears
It's about time Scholastic had the microscope put on them. After goibg to their site and looking at their other "news" for kids, they need to know they can't just slap any old crap together and feed it to our children.

6. Please spread this around--Scholastic would be fer-shit if it weren't
for JK Rowling's cash cow. We've only a few days before they air this atrocity, and the weekend is coming on...please help keep this kicked, thanks.

7. Remember you can still get the UK Publication
Bloomsbury is her original publisher that publishes there... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomsbury_Publishing_Plc

So if you don't want to buy it from Scholastic, buy it from Bloomsbury.

10. If they think that they can still sell Harry Potter books
remind them that anyone can go to the UK version of Amazon & buy the book on that website. :) Those who live close to Canada can buy the UK version there as well. It can be done. They are not the SOLE printers of Harry Potter, just the US rights.

11. I provided articles to my children's teacher leader who is planning
to bring it to the superintendent. She was aware of the controversy but not that Scholastic prividing it to high schools as a lesson.

14. NO, they did NOT CAVE--read the FULL THREAD
They STILL want kids to watch six hours of horseshit, and then maybe, assuming the teacher isn't GOP, spend five minutes talking about how the media can sometimes lie.

They're changing their tack from "This is ALL TRUE" to "Most of it is true, but there's some compilation and compression and fiction in there"==PLEASE.

Don't buy the bullshit, because that is what it is.
