Remember back in the days, when the Soviets were invading Afghanistan and we were supportive of the "freedom fighters" on the Afghanistan side...and we gave a little known kid named Osama Bin Laden $1 million and some training to fight the Soviets?

Somebody clever get a link for this....and anytime a repub says it's all Clinton's fault, let's give em a history lesson.

1. I don't think so, Osama is and was part of the 2nd richest family in Saudi
I think they were in the same business, but he was not a "creation" of the US government, as is often said. They just gave him the skills to win against a massive conventional force (great going guys :eyes: )

Ghost Wars: How Reagan Armed the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan

During Reagan's 8 years in power, the CIA secretly sent billions of dollars of military aid to the mujahedeen in Afghanistan in a US-supported jihad against the Soviet Union. We take a look at America's role in Afghanistan that led to the rise of Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda with Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Steve Coll, author of Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and Bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001.
