What would Peter Jennings have said about ABC
being another GOP mouthpiece? Just wonderin'

-----------------------------------------------------------

"Peter Jennings is dead. Lest we forget, however, while he was alive Peter Jennings did considerable damage to the cause of civilization and human deceny by his sympathy for Jew-hating terrorists and their supporters." - David Horowitz, 8/8/05 post

7. You're right. He turned out to be just like the rest of them, he covered
and outright lied for this criminal administration.

Year ago I really like Peter Jennings. He seems to be honest, even to the point of pointing out his own mistakes, where he was responsible for his marriage falling apart, stuff like that.

But then along came the blivet and the neos (sounds like a really bad polka band). And so help me I don't understand why, but he sold out to them. He covered for them. He praised and lauded their corrupt actions even though it was obvious what was going on. No matter how bad blivet screwed up he would somehow find the weasel words to make his sound like a 'homey statesmen, a man of the people'. By the end, he was useless. No honesty, no impartial reporting, covered up or outright lied, he was just like most of the so called 'journalists' in this country today.

10. That was before 9-11
I distinctly remember as 9-11 unfolded, Jennings was asking where the president was. He kept asking, and saying things like the country needed to see their leader during a time of crisis.

I suspect the true journalist in him would have continued to ask the hard questions....until he saw his colleague Tom Brokaw receive an envelope with anthrax in it.

I think then, perhaps, Jennings saw the writing on the wall.....and became complicit to his keepers, to avoid having a bullseye on his ass.

One of his former wives was from the MidEast...I want to say Lebanon. I would like to believe that, were he alive today, the current situation in the Middle East would have him PISSED OFF. Whether or not he'd actually SAY anything about it would be another matter entirely.

5. Where is Charles Gibson on this?
I respected Peter Jennings greatly. He would have said something if he could imo, and fought this one-sided story.

9. Propaganda is ABC's specialty and Jennings has been a part of it
See: ABC's JFK Assassination special where Jennings take great pains to put conspiracy theorists in the whacko category and sticks with the Lee Harvey Oswald- lone gunman crap no matter how flawed their explanations or right wing their interview subjects were.
