Does any politician have a straight answer on this POLICE ACTION in Iraq
DAMN!!! all i hear from the Dem's well if we knew then what we know now i wouldn't have voted to give the president authority to go to war(no shit) and the republicans well we can't leave now until we have won in there(win what) the most logical answer i heard from a radio host from Mass. was when asked by Imus should we get out of Iraq? quote: we should have left Iraq YESTERDAY end of discussion by the way that radio host is a conservative republican.

3. They all know it's about keeping a handle on the oil, so it's unspoken
that we are going to be there fighting those people for it forever. It doesn't matter whether they are Dem or repuke, it's the same.

6. Nobody's willing to live with the consequences.
After Vietnam, there was the mass exodus of refugees from the North's capture of the south.

France and the US's response was to accept in many hundreds of thousands of refugees, with virtually no questions asked. The N. Vietnamese wanted us gone; with us gone, their attitude was one of de facto indifference to the US, whatever their rhetoric.

With the US out of Iraq, there's likely to be a similar humanitarian problem. Except instead of one side buckling, as the S. Vietnamese side did, with mostly S. Vietnamese refugees, there'll be a lot of communal violence. Perhaps the Shi'ites and Sunnis will merely form two sides; perhaps not. Does the US accept refugees from Iraq?

If we do, how do we screen them? More than a few harbor a personal grudge against the US, and I doubt the CIA has a list of them all, and even if they did, I doubt the State Department would ask to see it. Whatever the rhetoric from Salafist Iraqis, there isn't universal de facto indifference wrt the US.

Not accepting refugees wouldn't play well, either.
