Anyone else disgusted at the upcoming neo-con celebration?
You know the one I’m talking about. It’s just around the corner. Again. A veritable orgy of backslapping and Liberal bashing that will have neo-cons and their 30 percenters whipped up into an orgasmic froth. A revolting display of feigned shock, and made-up outrage.

Of course I’m talking about the anniversary of September 11th. ABC is getting an early start by releasing a complete bullshit 9/11 historical revision. CNN is re-running the destruction of the World Trade Center in its entirety. Aided by an immoral corporate media, Neo-Con thugs are preparing to piss on the graves of the innocent people that died that day.

The message: The big 9/11 anniversary is here. And don't ever forget to be afraid, not for one moment. Run like scared little children to Bush and Rummy. Let the FBI wiretap your phone, regulate what you read on the Internet, and force you to carry a national ID card so that they can create a dossier on each and every one of you. It’s the only way to be safe from fascism; by creating one of our own instead. Dissent will not be tolerated. Look at those filthy Liberal traitors that want to bring back slavery and appease the Nazis. Look how complacent they are. Look how they want our country to fail. One would think that dead horse has been beaten into the ground by these insane warmongering jerks, but there they are, still beating on what’s left of its rotting carcass for all it is worth.

Oh, and a quick note to the media whores; Complacency, by definition, means being satisfied with the way things are. When one says “stay the course” they are being complacent. When one says “we are safer now under Bush” they are being complacent. It’s not the other way around.

But I digress.

The big problem I have with this upcoming Whitehouse propaganda onslaught, is that I was touched by 9-11. I’m sure that there are several of us here, that were touched in some way or another that day. I lost a cousin when the WTC towers were destroyed. A good friend of mine lost their mother in the 9-11 carnage, which eventually spurred along the downward spiral of his life into depression, divorce, and alcoholism. I for one, don’t appreciate how their memories are being smeared by this group. I don’t appreciate how this current group is using their unnecessary deaths to further their insane agenda, especially since they had the intelligence report on their desk before it happened, and that it could have been prevented.

I have a huge amount of vitriol and contempt built up inside for this group I don’t actually feel betrayed mind you, as much as I am completely, and utterly disgusted at myself for even allowing the THOUGHT that this current group of sociopaths had our best interests mind after the towers fell. But that’s what it was like immediately following 9-11. People came together. It’s the type of nationalistic bonding that only happens when an event that’s tragic enough to break down all personal and political boundaries occurs. It’s something that usually only happens once per generation. 9-11 was one of those incidents. Democrats and Republicans alike both backed the mission to the Afghani region. After all, this was an opportunity to really make a difference in the world. The possibilities were endless. Establish a base of operations in Kabul, and flush out the Taliban warlords and terrorist organizations that had so plagued the world. From there, we were going to get to the heart of the problem of worldwide terrorism, by addressing its causes. We were going to look at the brutal Sheikdoms, that plague the region and keep the majority of their people in abject poverty and hopelessness.

Well, we all know the events that transpired after that. The Bush administration cutting and running out of Afghanistan. The constant evocation 9-11 to attack and question the patriotism of anyone that would question why we out our troops to Iraq, who had no role whatsoever in 9-11. 2657 dead U.S. soldiers. Thousands of dead Iraqi civilians, who’s only crime was to be born on top of our oil. Countless thousands of missing limbs, and cases of PTSD. All justified by 9-11.

So this coming Monday, I will be home. The TV will be off. The newspaper will be unread. I am going to take the day off from work in somber remembrance of was, and what could have been, without these bastards ordering and instructing me how to do so.

New York voted AGAINST You.

When you trespassed onto New York land to politicize 9/11 for your convention the people came out in droves AGAINST YOU.

More than half of New Yorkers believe that YOU the neo con rulers in DC either were in on or were aware of the attack that was about to take plae on 9/11

So as a transplant from New York I can only think of one thing to say to all the neo-cons and other sheep that have never been east of New Mexico who are trumpeting this crap as gospel and think they need to tell us how we should live in accordance to The Bush Crime Family's form of "protection

Go fuck yaselves.

3. K&R!
Great post! Yep, the neocon circle-jerk is getting sickening already and will only continue on through the Nov. election. I'm going to be avoiding all 9/11 bullshit on tv and rent a movie or something.

4. I'm right there with you...
I'm totally disgusted... I have never watched the "anniversary" neo-con celebrations.

And being this is the 5th year.. It will be a big celebration.

The bastards got what they wanted; a fearful, obedient populace!

5. They have made it a celebration, haven't they?

One of the darkest days in American history and the neocons are trying to make it out to be their triumph.

To me 9/11 represents the total failure of our government to protect us from the very evil they are proclaiming war over. It was their enabler.

6. They have politicized and used 9/11 so much that I cringe just about
every time that I hear it or see it in print. It will be a quiet day and evening of reflection in my household with a candle lit to remember those who perished or who were injured that day, including the first responders who were told that it was okay to work and who are now sick.
