We've only been attacked once since September 10th, 2001...
Edited on Wed Sep-06-06 11:39 AM by kentuck
...and guess who was in charge on that fateful day? If you think about it, they have a lot of gall to even mention that "America hasn't been attacked since 9/11". As if all of history has been wiped off the slate before that date? There is plenty of evidence indicating that George W Bush was asleep at the wheel and busy vacationing down in Texas up to that date. He had spent more time on vacation than he had spent at the White House up to that point. And the Aug 6th PDB that he had ignored stating that "Bin Laden Determined to Strike US". It's hard to argue that someone was not negligent in their duty. It's unfortunate that the Democrats did not point this out earlier, at least before the 2004 election. However, their "liberal" senses told them it would not be appropriate for some reason or another. I don't feel those same restrictions...

1. Don't forget the unsolved Anthrax attacks
The ones that the Bushies don't want to remind us of.

3. You mean the anthrax that was confirmed to have came from an army lab?
That anthrax?

The anthrax that was mailed to opposition party members, and members of the media?

That anthrax?

Can anyone say "Inside Job"?

9. Intimidation. Got rid of Daschle pretty good, didn't it?
And since, the Democrats have wanted to stay in a holding pattern, the media has been cooperating.

I'd say that "attack" was a success.

4. The anthrax incident was an attack?
I thought it was just a cheap substitute for cocaine.

8. that's not the point. The Anthrax is irrelevant
what the OP seems to be suggesting is that even being attacked once is no accomplishment.

Rather than praise him for us not being attacked since 9/11 (even when its clearly not true), the media should be going after Bush for us even being attacked at all.

5. the DC snipers killed 13 people
terrorized DC for 23 days, they were Muslim extremists. One would think that counts as attack/act(s) of terrorism

7. anthrax
and the unrelenting gop terrorism machine implemented through fatherland security and the fascist propaganda operation--gop rule has been the most obvious and widespread terrorist operation in history.

terrorism: the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.

10. All depends on the definitions ...
Okay.

"Who's in charge": Well, you listen to Republicans, it's all Clinton's fault ... 234 days out of office ... however, Poppy Bush was out of office less than 50 days and WTC1 was hit ... and Clinton was in charge ...

Terrorist attacks: If it's an attack on American Soil by Foreign Terrorists, then yes, we haven't been hit by another terrorist attack since 9/11/2001. However, Repukes like to toss in the Khobar Towers and the USS Cole when blaming Clinton (along with WTC1), so any attack on our troops by terrorists should, by the Repuke definition, be the fault of George W. Bush ... but, of course, it's still Clinton's fault. Yep, even the attack on the Marine barracks back when Reagan was in office ...

12. We have been attacked almost daily, by the neocons and GOP
Our rights are diminishing rapidly. Our economy is in the crapper. Our military is spent, we don't seem to have any resources to take care of our vets and our elders. Victims of natural disasters are not tended to. Our national forests are being sold off and our dependence on imported oil has not been decreased, making us vulernable... oh, and China owns our ass.

We have been clawed nearly to death from the inside. Those 'enemies foreign and domestic' have brought America to a sorry state.

14. Nope... Twice.
The anthrax attacks. Of course, those attackas were against Democrats, so apparently they don't count. I guess it's okay to attack Democrats.

15. If that jackass wants to claim he keeps us safe now...
...He'll have to admit he didn't keep us safe on 9/11.

By the same token if he want's to take credit for good economic times he has to accept liability for the bad economic times.

Walking a razor's edge of propaganda bullshit.

18. That is not so.....there has been another attack.
Everyone seems to forget that less than two weeks later we were attacked by Anthrax. The nation was afraid to open mail for the next six months.
