I don't care about myself anymore, just my kids & grandkids.
I'm pretty much done with it, I want America for my kids and grandkids, and I want it to be a better place than it was for me, not worse.

That's all I want, and its a simple thing, I want a better America and a better world for my kids and their kids, and yours.

That's why I am so despondent, not for me, I ain't worried about me any more, I worry about the future of my kids and their kids, and they are being threatened in the future by these men right here, right now.

Visions of a neo con future of fascism for my kids and grandkids are giving me nightmares, and I wish there was something I could do to help or save them, but I feel so helpless and impotent.

Its them I worry about, not me, I'm beyond worrying about me anymore, I've had it, I had my day, my swing at bat, and it's their world now, not mine. I wish I had a better legacy to leave them, I wish I could speak to them in the future and apologize, but for what? All this madness is not my fault, or is it?

1. What a sad
thought, resigning your self to complacency. I don't disagree with you in fact i think you are right, we should do it for our kids.

9. I have bad dreams too...
...and frankly, I really resent it.

I detest that these thugs have stoked my subconscious. That's a very personal space.

I keep having a dream about watching a B1 Bomber releasing a nuclear weapon. It's very
eerie, because it feels different from a dream. I don't know how to explain it. The dream
is more crystal and not as foggy as usual dreams.

It haunts me.

Again, I resent this.

I just watched V4V--for the second time. Watching it in my home made it more personal. I also had bad dreams after watching again. I know how you feel.

I also understand your thoughts about your children/grandchildren. I have two very young girls, and it's horrible to wonder what the world will be like when they are in their teens. Right now, it could go either way. It's so unfair to them.

What will we tell our kids and grandkids when they ask us why we didn't fight harder? We should all be streaming in the streets--like the scene at the end of V4V.

Thanks for your thoughts.

6. The neo-con nightmare that is happening is what is keeping me awake right
now too! And all I can think of is about my Pachababies and their future.

I feel sick to my stomach and the recent Neo-con Nazi fantasies and the way they are actually having the audacity to go off and make comparisons of terrorism to fascism and the nazis has got me angry as hell.

4. I have a Republican relative who says just the opposite.
Actually two of them said about the same thing after I dispelled their arguments and showed them how Republican policies are taking us down a path that will cause hardship all around. The first guy said, "Well, I'm sixty so I won't be here anyways when it all happens." The second guy, who is a millionaire, said, "Why should I even care to leave money for my funeral? It's somebody else's problem."

That is what it means to be a white male autocratic Republican.

Many more are sleeping letting a few greedy people control there lives, But there are many more of us than these thugs in power, and it is for that reason, I have hope. Peace

7. My daughter keeps saying

"You eat an elephant "one bite at a time".

Time was when there were not so many rich people. The corporations and the rich always wanted it all, but the Democrats fought them every step of the way for fairness for the middle class, the poor and the workers.

Now, the corporations work together and they are dangerous to a democracy.

Also, the Media used to keep the politicians honest. Now, the Media, try to make Democrats look bad and the Republicans look great. They cover for the republican dishonesty. (Dare I say Fox News is the worst?)

It is an international deal now. The rich all over the world have banded together and can pretty well call the shots. We either do what they want or they will leave this country and take their low wage jobs with them.

Apparently, what they want is to leave us all without retirement or any safety nets. "No one will inherit" the guy on a financial news said the other day. They didn't say why. I would say it will be because our dollar is going to be so devalued that it will take every penny just to survive.

There are ways to fight this, but we need leaders with a spine. We need to accept anything we hear as "news" with a grain of salt.

It will be worse for our children and grandchildren. They are edging it in slowly. The way they want to privatize Social Security, they let the oldest continue to get it while planning on cutting it back as time goes on.

8. I worry the most about global warming
I have no grand-children (yet), and althoug it would be nice to have some, I wouldn't want to bring a child into this world which seems like it's slowly being destroyed by mankind.

10. I feel the same way and I don't have kids. And consequently,
no grandkids. :silly:

But I too wish we had a better legacy to leave them than a neocon fascists society with fewer and fewer good jobs.

12. well, you could speak to them in the future
You could leave a letter, or a video, or some kind of "time capsule" of clippings and stuff.

14. you and me both. I'm afraid for my babies, afraid to die and leave
them to a world coming at them like a balled up fist. I pray for us all, for you and me and everyone. I don't know what to say beyond this. I am going to live as long as I can to help them. I don't want them to pay the piper alone.
