The neocons are fighting back
ABC will broadcast a docudrama that puts more of the blame for 9/11 on Clinton than on the guy who was president for 240 days when it happened; oil companies are engaging in collusion to lower gas prices after mid-September; the Iranian, Saudi Arabian, and Al Qaeda neocons aren't going to do anything to disrupt the flow of oil. The neocons, whether they are Arab or American, need each other to stay in power, and they know it.

1. That's if anyone watches
Scarborough had clips... and aside from the obvious lies...
the acting, writing and directing all looked pretty awful.

You couldn't pay me to watch more.

11. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
So what's new with the neocons? This group of thugs can't afford for the Democrats to take over. You're right, the stakes are high and they won't relinquish power without a vicious fight, on their part. No holds barred.

When you own and control the media, you aren't doing much at all. You are giving them too much credit.

those who are members of the PNAC or support their agenda. IMO!

War and conquest of the ME is their goal and 911 and Iraq and Afghanistan are part of that effort! Also part are control of the MSM(called "advocacy journalism" on their homepage), Illegal NSA spying on all American citizens, and much much more.

8. Well, they have much in common with them
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 10:18 PM by Onlooker
Tehran is eliminating liberals from universities, both groups have terrible anti-gay and anti-women views; both want to spread their philosophy, by war if necessary; both advocate development of nuclear weapons and seem to prefer agression to diplomacy; both lie to the public and manipulate the media; both rely on fear, and I'm sure there are other similarities as well. The neocons here are partly restrained by our Constitution.

Republicans would love to remove liberals from universities. David Horowitz!

Republicans have something in common with the Iranian government.

28. The RW is definitely jealous of the Islamic theocracies
You can see it in their feeling of "victimization" of the Christian religion. This is supposed to be a "Christian" nation, they whine - they aren't getting the power their opposite numbers have in the Islamic countries.

32. It would help of they acted like Christ would have wanted people to act
and not acting like some poorbashing mean spirited sex crazed fundy sex suppressors.

But no, I don't consider these people christians despite their claimed belief in him and their wish to shove christ up everyone's butt.

These idiots don't realize that christ did not even walk the earth when God gave Moses the TEN COMMANDMENTS yet these idiots want to put graven images in every classroom and courthouse?

Ship them off to Iran so they can plot with their soulmates to get rid of liberals over there so they can't do it here.

15. Meh.
It's television. It will be absorbed momentarily and forgotten shortly afterwards. If "American Idol" happens to follow it in the lineup, it will be forgotten within an hour.

16. Not so fast
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 11:07 PM by Elwood P Dowd
All the right wing talk shows will be constantly bombarding their listeners with this crap. The cable news will be pushing it. There will be editorials in thousands of newspapers about it. ABC is pushing this on our school children. It's a major part of the Fall propaganda blitz.

17. Remember how loud they all screamed when CBS was going to show the
movie about their B-actor-turned-president hero Saint Ronnie (a.k.a. "That Bastard Reagan", as we always seemed to be referring to him when I was in the Air Force) because is didn't show the old codger in a completely flattering way? If I remember correctly, they managed to get it pulled from the regular lineup and relegated to cable where fewer people could see it.

What a bunch of freaking hypocitres.

18. I'm not a big television fan
and rarely turn it on so I will defer to your expertise with regard to the first sentence of your post.

I do read a lot, though, and since I don't believe in the occult or seers or premonitions and such, forgive me for not accepting your second and third sentences at face value.

As to your fourth sentence, "pushing this on our school children", what does that mean? Don't we, as parents, have some say in that? Such as not letting them be tube freaks in the first place, and teaching them to think for themselves rather than being lemmings in the second place?

I don't watch television very often and neither do my children so it is virtually impossible that ABC - or any other network for that matter - can push anything upon my children. I do, however, understand how that might be a risk for those who substitute their televisions for babysitters.

I also taught my children to think for themselves, to challenge authority, and to never, ever, blindly accept what others try to sell them... so again, my children are not likely to be easily led. I'm sorry if your children have not been taught these things, but it's never too late to stop blaming the media and start teaching them yourself.

If you're not in the mood to read, a simple "thanks for the information" is the polite way to do it.

24. Just like this group couldn't lose power in 2004, holding Congress in
2006 is paramount for the neocons. A House controlled by Democrats is a House with subpoena power. I truly believe the 'cons did not think they would be in such deep shit for 2006. They placed too much faith in the "genius" of kkkarl rove.

26. I think you're right.
People forget that after the '04 election John Ashcroft declared that he had defeated crime and terrorism and B*sh declared that he had his mandate from the people and political capital to spend.

He then spent it in the next few months trying to push his Social Security "reforms". I have a feeling that was meant to be the Big Idea of the 2nd term, when that failed the neocons went back to what they're good at - war and terror.
