Steven Jobs? Jobs? Jobs? Anyone seen Jobs?
"Once the deal closed, Jobs became The Walt Disney Company's largest single shareholder with approximately 7 percent of the company's stock.<17> Jobs' holding in Disney will far outpace those of Eisner, who holds 1.7 percent, and Disney Director Emeritus Roy E. Disney, who holds about one percent of the company's stock and whose criticisms of Eisner included the soured Pixar relationship and accelerated his ousting. A Disney press release<18> stated that Jobs would join its Board of Directors upon completion of the deal."

Strangley silent on this, our hero.

3. Bad news to be sure, but....

"On July 31, 2004, Jobs successfully underwent surgery to remove the tumor, which did not require chemotherapy or radiation therapy."

My father suffering in a wheelchair went to rallies for WWII vets rights. I know, I pushed him around. I think Jobs can pick up a phone.

Oh wait, Jobs is holy on this site. I forgot, the Macists, and the POD people, and how cool and progressive and hip he is; hip enough to let a network he has by the balls air this shit.

4. I've always thought Jobs was an asshole
He's been a weasel since the 70's. I give him no free pass.

Apple executives are hiring lawyers as the company's stock options debacle continues.

The news emerges as Apple CEO Steve Jobs faces further enquiries following revelations that two senior executives at his one-time other company, Pixar, were also granted share options in a way that maximised their value.

6. When I want to show the state of the economy
I go to the classified section of the local paper. When I was a kid (70's) every weekday had at least 3 pages of jobs available. When I came home in the 90's it was down to about two pages. Since I moved back after 2001, the average couldn't fill a page on most days. When you look at the jobs available now as opposed to then, 85% of the jobs now are service level(low income) jobs. In the 90's the ad's were pretty much an even split between service jobs and manufacturing/engineering/white collar jobs. Today what I see are mostly service work positions and a few management positions. Screw those of us in the middle.
