Have no mistake, the media will shape the '06 elections....
just like they did when they looped the so called "Dean Scream" back in '04, over and over again.

We must stay vigilant, not only about our national interests, but our local grass roots involvement as well. I'm putting this plea to you to log off just long enough to pick up your phone and talk to someone one on one at your local dem candidate's headquarters and VOLUNTEER to gather, even if it's just once a month between now and November at some random, but nearby location to hand out literature and sign up new voters in your district.

CALL your local candidate's headquarters TODAY and VOLUNTEER to register people to vote at every flea market, county fair and shit hole they want to send you to. It sounds simplistic and mundane, but it is our best bet. We must start at the lowest level and show them that we are passionate about change, they're ready, trust me.

Join me this day and shut down your computer for just one hour and pick up your telephone to contact your local dem candidates to offer some boots on the ground help.

THANKS!

1. The GOP will try last minute tricks
Think of the smear against Francine Busby in CA-50 regarding illegal immigration as a dress rehearsal of what they plan on doing the weekend before Election Day.

3. Your pessimism is just exactly.....
what I'm trying to address.
I worked hard to support local dem judges and even the lowest level school board nomineses in the last primaries and we WON!
Have faith and put your best dem foot forward locally and we can and will prevail!

4. You know it is a really dangerous game for some (gop) backers
Right now - If they back the wrong horse its going to cost them (in pet projects, etc)

We are in a great position to stop this crud, we really are. We just have to vote - I don't think they will in anywhere near the numbers we will.
Great post!

Joe

5. Wow, not one damn post.....
saying, "Yeah I got involved at the very lowest, local level, and I made a difference too".

I'm kinda surprised and disappointed, but completely confident in the fact that "most" people here take part in every election at the very local level in their respective communities.
