Here is a Sports Question.

Let us pretend that you are a basketball coach in the NCAA tournament. Would you take the floor with only two players for the championship game? Of course not! What if your athletic director was driven by this dream of cutting down the number of athletes currently on the university’s teams and forced you to only use two basketball players, what do you think would happen. What if before the game some assistant coach said something like, “we need 5 players to have an even shot at winning,” and then the athletic director fired him. Would you stand up for more players? Or, if you did not stand up for more players, would you go along when the athletic director told the press, “ well if the coach needs more players all he has to do is tell me.”

This is a silly little analogy. But basically this is what happened in a situation that was deadlier than some NCAA basketball tournament. All you need to do is substitute Iraq, Franks, Shinseki and Rumsfeld and you have the criminal mismanagement of an unnecessary war.
