...is pure gold. The Pope has a senior exorcist...and not only admits to it, but publicizes that fact?

There's an International Association of Exorcists, and it's not a joke? If someone had told me such a group existed, I'd have expected that they hold their yearly convention in Conference Room B at the Super 8 in Milwaukee, not the Vatican...

3. From what I understand the movie The Exorcist was based on a

'real' story. I don't know how or what part was supposed to be 'real'.

And I am Catholic (lapsed tho). The Vatican always has exorcists on 'staff' for certain demonic emergencies. Which makes me think that there should be a ring of black robed men with holy water circling the White House day and night.

according to him, he has performed over 30,000 exorcisms since he became one in 1986. by my quick math, that is about 4 per day, each and every day. busy little demons, busy guy.

my first thought was that he had read the Onion article, and not understood that it was satire, because it is obvious he has NEVER read the books.
