Thought even DUer outside of Michigan might enjoy these, which include a number of photos of John Conyers.

I love that city.

It was nice to see ol' Tiger Stadium, to where I used to take the bus and watch the Tige's play in my youth--Frank Lary, Don Mossi, Rocky Colavito, Jake Wood, Dick Brown, etc. They were always fun to watch, win or lose. The stadium was always beautiful. What a waste to let it go like that.

Downtown. I no longer recognize the buildings but I know exactly where the festivities took place. Nearby is a Detroit institution, American Coney Island, which has kept downtowners fed for nearly 90 years. Yummy!!

Woodward Avenue--Main Street, Detroit. Gees, Louise, I miss Detroit.

Damn! Thanks for the pictures.

2. LOL
We actually had lunch at American Coney Island on our way back to the car! Glad I could stir up some good memories for you.

6. Nope -- we walked right by American
and Nancy's field guy just said "Do you all want to get a bite to eat?" We didn't go looking for a place, we were just right there. Personally,I don't like coneys, so I didn't really care. I had a taco salad which had way too much stuff I shouldn't have eaten on it, but it was really good. We had been walking so long it just felt good to sit down.
