This Day in History: Geo. W. Bush, drunk driving.
http://www.dailyrotten.com/

Sep 4 1976

George W Bush is arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine for driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.10 percent. He pays the $150 fine and has his driving privileges suspended for a month. Years later, during Bush's 2000 campaign for President, a WPXT-TV reporter from Portland, Maine uncovers the arrest record just one week prior to election day. It is also revealed that Bush's V.P. candidate, Dick Cheney, had arrests for drunken driving in 1962 and 1963.

1. Say what you like about the evils of alcoholism but,
if Shrub had continued drinking, he wouldn't be President now. Think of all the lives that would have been saved if he'd just kept sucking on that bottle.

4. I remember when that story came out
And with only a few exceptions, the corporate media spent more time investigating the guy who un-earthed the story, rather than the story itself.

5. I could be wrong,...
...but if you're talking about J. H. Hatfield, I think his big scoop was the cocaine usage and possible arrest, not the DUI. :eyes:
