I know John Kerry isn't everyones favourite guy, but overall he has done great thingsfor America. I think Kerry believed in the system so accepted the result. Apart from this though if anyone didn't see his biography film here is a clip of how he got his purple hearts. Send it to right wingers.

One of them was to raise children so that respect for war veterans was built into their notion of citizenship and selfhood. To demean or dismiss a veteran was far worse than bad form; it was civic blasphemy, a vandalism of the spirit of someone who had sacrificed.

I like your post, cooolandrew, because it reminds me that the Swiftboat Liars attacked John Kerry, Max Cleland, and others and dishonored the sacrifices of these two men, and with that countless unnamed others.

My strong hunch is that Mr. Rove instigated and coordinated and blessed this blasphemy, and for that I hope he rots in Hell a very long time indeed.

Thanks for posting and welcome to DU. I would urge anyone who hasn't seen "Going Up River" in its entirety to do so. It's an excellent documentary. (Funny, but I somehow missed seeing the documentary on *'s time spent in TANG.)

Oh, and the JK Group here at DU now has well over 100,000 posts, so there are actually quite a few of us here who recognize that he has done great things for America. :)
