Iraqi soccer star abducted; bodies found
By REBECCA SANTANA, Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A popular Iraqi soccer star was kidnapped and 35 bullet-riddles bodies were found in Iraq on Monday, a day after Iraqi officials touted the capture of al-Qaida in Iraq's No. 2 leader as a move to reduce violence in the country.

The U.S. military announced the deaths of five more American troops, including a soldier who was killed by a roadside bomb north of Baghdad on Monday.

A roadside bomb also killed two British soldiers and seriously wounded a third in Ad Dayr, north of the southern city of Basra, British military spokesman Maj. Charlie Burbridge said.

Authorities found 33 bodies of people who had been shot to death, all showing signs of torture, dumped around several neighborhoods in Baghdad, police said. The bodies, all of men, were blindfolded and their feet and hands were tied.

1. I wonder
Was he on the Olympic team that we liberated the country so they could have? (okay, convoluted, but I hope you get my meaning)

2. Look, we don't need the maniacs in Washington to make a declaration
on what we already know. Iraq is fighting a civil are. And it's going to heat up what with the Kurd's declaration of independence and the Sunni's warning that they better think twice.

And that's is THE WAY every dem needs to play this. Pound the public with the reality that the country is lost and every bad thing ever predicted pre-Shock and Awe has come to pass.

3. Is this another "No freedom to wear SHORTS" abduction/murder?
I find the construct of the article interesting.

A sports star is abducted, 35 shot dead bodies found, oh, uh, five US troops killed, two UK killed, one wounded....same old, same old.
