Beware the Fruitcake Fundies. Their Danger is Real
Edited on Sun Sep-03-06 11:04 PM by Wiley50
I lived in Tulsa in the late 70's and early 80's
the town owned by Oral Roberts and Kenneth Copeland
I know the insanity in the eyes of a Rhema Bible School student.

And I have been afraid for all these years

People who do not see the growing danger of the religious right
are blind in their own egotism.
These people are like the walking dead on meth,
like The Stepford Wives with knives.

and to them, Smirkzilla is their Messiah

Don't make the mistake of laughing them off
Mis-underestimating them will be fatal for us
And slavery for our children

When we get another 911
either by internal or external cause
their militias will be in the streets
and on your doorstep

I live in Tennessee now
I know of a dozen different ones
armed and ready for what they see
as the call of God
to fulfill His plan

Sure, They are Nutty as Fruitcakes
But all psychopathic homicidals
are
Either escape
or be prepared to defend yourselves

It's coming

1. Katherine Yurica has been one of my favored writers for years
When it come to the Dominionists, she is definitely the go to person. "The Despoiling of America" is probably the definative piece on Dominionism, and a good place to start.

The Despoiling of America: How George W. Bush became the head of the new American Dominionist Church/State

by Katherine Yurica

Most Americans have been aware that religious right
Republicans have become extremely active politically
in the last twenty years. But because we're Americans
and we're mostly tolerant of other people's religious
beliefs, their rise to power hasn't really troubled us.
We should be troubled. There is now overwhelming
evidence that conservative Christians set out to
takeover the government of the United States and impose
their culture and values upon all Americans. This
article is not a theory--it is factual and historic.
The proof is in this essay. (a definite Must Read)

more people have seen American Idol than Boston Legal

more people believe in religion than don't

and we have crazy religious nuts running every part of our government

6. They get encouragement from our government
through their code words and propaganda. The Southern Strategy the GOP uses over & over again depends on code words to cover its racism. The Republicans feed the fear of the McVeigh's of this world through things like an immigration "crisis" and foreign terrorists. Worse, the media doesn't call them on it.

15. Theocratic Nationalism and the GOP go hand in hand...
They are so far up the Governments ass that they give the politicians tonsils a tongue bath...When Hagee and others in the Theocratic Right have weekly calls to and from the White House, there is a serious problem.

The Theocrats have actually infiltrated the Republican Party and over a 25 year period they have managed to almost get their way on several issues. We can not allow for them to continue on the path they have been on for the last 25 years...

The fundies are rabidly determined and incredibly dangerous. They are instigating a "holy war" and people not prepared to fight back will become victims. To dismiss them as harmless fruitcakes is a critical mistake.

10. I'm a lifelong pacifist. But now I am an Armed Pacifist
I'm an old peacenik hippie.
But,last year, I bought a gun.
It's a .40 cal Keltec folding carbine.
Most cops carry .40 cal Glocks
so I figure there will be plenty of ammo
laying around when the time comes.

I really hate having to do it.

I bought an old sailboat that I live on
so I could get out of here
But I have serious health problems
that chain me to my doctors here.
It sucks.

My boat's name is "Beyond Belize"
It's where I'd rather be.

This country has so much bad karma right now.
Something is gonna happen soon.

But, if I must stay and fight
I will

19. If that carbine doesn't chamber the Glock 40 case,
You may be sorely disappointed. If you haven't verified it, I'd look into it if I were you. I buy a box of ammo a month, shoot about half of it.

It's a real intriquing thought you're having here. At the drop of an altar cloth the militia to the 'rescue'. Yes, I can see that as one possible future event especially if coupled with an event crippling C-3 (or whatever the government calls it these days). Perhaps a Guy Fawkes incident that allows the shadow to step up could be a trigger. Or perhaps inner city riots over being denied an honest chance to vote?

To those who think it couldn't happen here, I reference the rampant militia action of the Civil War. Many of the fundies that I personally have met haven't advanced much from those ideas.

Food for thought.

The Keltec Sub2ooo carbine was designed to compliment a LE officer's handgun by using the same mags and ammo as his sidearm.

30. It's not just the nutcake fundies....
I'm not saying all religious people are like this, but I personally have been uniformly lied to.

I have dealt with religious people for my wedding and my mom's funeral. Both of them told me the services would be kept completely secular per my request. Both broke that promise. And not straight out, either, but in a way they hoped I would not notice or would let pass.

The wedding one never said "god," but said "holy" about every three words. We almost didn't pay him. The funeral one almost got to the end, but then he just *had* to throw in a "Vaya con Dios." Maybe this sounds picky, but we were paying these people for agreed-upon services and they reneged.

As did the choir director (well, at least I wasn't paying him)who begged me to join his church choir just to sing, promised me he wouldn't proselytize me, and then did so incessantly, until I quit.

They thought saving my soul was more important than absolutely anything that could happen on earth, including treating other people with kindness and respect.

*That's* why they are scary. On a small scale, it's the same thinking as the Inquisition.

Well, a movement needs to established that will bring together the different secular organizations so WE can mass our peoples together and counter the Xtian Nationalist and the Neocon Agenda.

Currently we still have the constitution on our side and some judges, like the one who recently said the GOPs wiretapping was illegal since it was warrantless.

Organization is extremely important, for some odd reason we are lacking in that area. Everything is everywhere and there is no central nervous system, so we just get pulled in so many different directions at once and we get off track.

From my post you can read what they are doing and the tactics being used. It is a cultural war that they started and we will have to finish, now I may be an Atheist but people have to right to practice their faith as they see fit. The problem clearly os when their Theology gets into our Democracy and with Christian Nationalism going wild in our government we have to act immediately..

Its wrong for them to be able to communicate with the White House and influence our Government they way they have. Hagee, Dobson and Perkins along with Roberts are the central core to this issue and they need to restrained from coercing our elected officials the way they have been.

If the DNC was used as the core of our movement, then we could in a short amount of time gain a large chunk of ground. Our other problem is we don't use Shamanistic manipulation nor do we lie to people for the sake of earning their trust. As with the Radical Right, who do lie to people and mislead them and at the end of this mess all those people who put 'faith' into those false leaders will get the rudest awakening of their existence...

I would like to take to some elected officials about this very serious issue and get them to realize, if they don't already, that we have serious problem that needs to be taken care of immediately.

25. Now that crosses the line...
if they are arming KIDS, and indoctrinating them into the mindset of being willing to kill and die "for Jesus," then they are nothing more than TERRORISTS. They are the "Christian" version of the Islamic suicide bombers they are always trying to terrorize us with, and they should be dealt with accordingly. It's hard to understand how even THEY can be so blind they make that connection. Just how the hell do they think they are any different?

23. Remember what happened the FIRST time Christians took over the government

Religious Superstition Threatens to Destroy Civilization (Again)

The Religious Right is really OUT OF CONTROL and is exerting a greater and greater influence on our society. They are flexing their muscles in the political process, the economy and our entire culture.

Let us remember that the first time Christianity spread rapidly and gained control of the government (from 300 - 500 CE) it resulted in the utter collapse of Western Civilization and ushered in 1,000 years of darkness, superstition, ignorance and suffering.

Finally, after a millennium of Darkness, mankind began to see the Dawn of The Age of Reason and The Enlightenment. Humanity recovered some dignity, science was freed from the chains of religious superstition and real progress began.

The Constitution of the United States of America was one of the crowning achievements of The Enlightenment, being a document for the Establishment of a government that did NOT MAKE ONE SINGLE REFERENCE TO "GOD". With the establishment of the United States, government as well as science was freed from the domination of religious superstition.

Now, every day in the news there is some story about how the religionists are exerting their influence. Radical Clerics like James Dobson and Jerry Falwell get air time on network news. Religionists are organizing and boycotting businesses that do not adhere to their version of personal morality.

The specter of religious superstition is once again casting a frightening shadow over our world. The ghosts and demons of the Dark Ages, once believed to be banished forever by Reason, are again haunting our culture. Christianity destroyed civilization once before - it could happen again.

Dominionism's Theocratic Designs and Radical Clerics

Fundamentalist Radical Clerics such as Falwell, Dobson, and Robertson are not merely medieval throwbacks or misguided religious hacks. They are part of a well organized subversionary movement known as "Dominionism". Dominionism constitutes a serious threat to American Democracy. These Radical Clerics have developed and are executing a detailed plan to gradually replace the free, secular democratic society of the United States with a Theocracy.

It is critical that people become aware of the extreme agenda these people have for the United States and ultimately for the world. The results of the 2004 Presidential Election were not a fluke or something that was drummed up over a period of months. It has been in planning for over 20 years, and what we are seeing take place now is, in the words of Katherine Yurica, "the swift advance of a planned coup".

It the face of this monster thats lurking around the White House and every other institution in this country, its vital to our freedom to not become enslaved by this Theocracy in the making.

Theocracywatch.org and People For the American Way's Right Wing watch has inpsired me to act, I sent them emails regarding my intrest in taking action to become part of the resistence. I printed off every page from Theocracy Watch and made a nice size manual to work off of. I will be doing more of this in next couple of months.

I have plenty of time off, so I will have time to gather up my friends and discuss this issue and hopefully get them motivated to organize a local chapter and maybe become a not-for-profit in the near future.

Getting your feet pounding pavement is very important. Goto those websites, make contact with them and become a Theocracy Road Block.

32. Something that needs to be made very clear.....
First, I am an Atheist...I personnally believe that religion is a bad thing and its a fossil that society no longer needs with its silly dogmas and superstitions.

Secondly, even though I believe that religion is bad, I think people have the right to believe as I have the right to not believe. I dont have any issues when religion is practiced correctly and properly. The nice lady who is genuinly kind and willing to help anybody when she is able and doesnt put her noise in everyones business as well as practices her faith in a private manner is who I will respect..That person also doesnt have any mind of taking over the country or the world and force unwilling masses into living under her faiths will.

The people like the Falwellians, Dodsons and Hagees are a totally out of control. The Theocracy they are striving for is completly insane, the Hitler comparisons they take the cake. Taking a religion and using it as a politcal tool is not right, they are manipulating people with the bible in order to gain more followers to further their agenda, I guess I also blames the weak minded people who walking so helplessly in to this cruel trap. The Theocratic Right is out of control and we have to become an thorn in their side one way or another.

I have some frineds that I am gathering up to begin discussion about what we can do about this issue, its very grave and are civil rights are at stake. Christianity is their weapon of choice and that is just a mask for them to hide behind because they can reach masses of people with it, to which they are basicly lying to. I dont even think that Falwell, Dobson and Roberts believes what they say to people or even believe in God at all.
