Why is it that that catching Al-Qaeda's #2 (repeatedly) is a big deal
when Bush himself has said that he doesn't care about Al-Qaeda's #1?

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but why doesn't this question get asked where it matters...like in the MM?

1. This is another toy medal LIEberman and the Repukes can hold up and say...
"See? We were right."

The problem is, at this point most people have caught on to the game.

2. I hope you're right.
There seem to be a lot of people who still react to this bullshit.

3. Endless mockery aside, because he's the Golden Mosque bomb plotter

Maybe that's already just a footnote in history but, we'll continue paying the price for this man's dirty work for years to come.

4. They've caught a lot of #2s, since there's always a #3 to move up.
But announcing with great fanfare that you've captured Number Two sounds really impressive because it implies they're *that* close to catching the Big Enchilada himself. And it's all bullshit, of course.

5. Nobody has actually alleged that al Queda's #2 has ever been captured.
Ayman al-Zawahiri is al Queda's real #2, and he is actually #1, just as Cheney is an al-Zawahiri to Bush's bin Laden. Capturing al-Zawahiri would actually be a big deal.

Instead, BushCo has alledgedly supposedly captured subservient "#2's" such as, '#2 in Iraq' or '#2 in Jordan', the hierarchical equivalent to 'Governor of Puerto Rico' in our own system.

But BushCo counts on nobody paying attention in America, and usually, they are right on that...
