Dems Should Define Fascism for Reps
Ive only seen one talking head on the coporate media mention this and I believe it was John Dean who pointed out that the repuglicans don't really know what fascism is - since fascism is a state based government system. Since bush and his cronies keep insisting that these are stateless enemies, there is no way they can be fascist in any way.

From Wikipedia:

"Under fascism in Italy, business owners, employees, trades-people, professionals, and other economic classes were organized into 22 guilds, or associations, known as "corporations" according to their industries, and these groups were given representation in a legislative body known as the Camera dei Fasci e delle Corporazioni."

Then there's neo-corporatism:

(also from wiki)

"Examples of modern neocorporatism include the ILO Conference or in the Economic and Social Committee of the European Union, the collective agreement arrangements of the Scandinavian countries, the Dutch Poldermodel system of consensus, or the Republic of Ireland's system of Social Partnership."

Should the dems not expose the fact that these people don't even know their forms of government? There is really no possible way to compare radical ismlamists to any form of fascism that I can see...or am I missing something?

1. Welcome to DU, Scoot.
:hi:

No, you're not "missing something." In fact, you're doing exactly what needs to be done.

The reTHUG party loves to play semantic games, stealing words and ideas, turning them upside down and inside out, and using their new twisted meanings to smear us. We can't let them get away with it even a little bit and have to call them on it every single time they do it.

and everything that goes with it. MONEY=POWER=FORCE and when you need an image think of Barbara Bush.

3. Kucinich, McKinney, Lee, Woolsey, Conyers, Sanders, have been doing
it for a long time. They are all portrayed as far left freaks. Maybe only the freaks get it (or are willing to say that they get it).

4. It is appalling that the Dems haven't challenged this
Fascism is the confluence of an authoritarian government with super-corporatism. It is Eisenhower's Mulitary-Industrial Complex run amok. The so-called terror networks have nothing in common with fascism. As Dean pointed out, they aren't even connected with a state, let alone an authoritarian state that is tightly intertwined with large corporations. They couldn't possibly be further from fascism.

But I know somebody who IS involved with a fascist operation. Don Rumsfeld.

It is absolutely 1984ish that these people, who fit the textbook definition of fascists, use the term completely out of character and not a single voice in the press -- or the opposition party -- calls them on it.

Hell, can't we even get a "Takes one to know one" out of a Democrat or two?
