The Paramount Reason NO Republican Should be Elected This Fall.
The Republican Party has embroiled us in a war which is beyond their capabilities or inclination to resolve. With tacit approval and total abrogation of oversight each and every Republican member of congress allowed this nation to engage in a war it could not win! Leaving aside the question of “just” or “unjust,” the Republicans, as a whole, allowed, for partisan purpose, Bush to go forward without any plan as to how an Iraqi democracy would be achieved. The Bush administration was not into nation building. They did not know how to build a democracy. Is there any wonder since they and the Republican Party do not believe in democracy?

1. Impeach the war criminals. Have a trial. Throw them in JAIL
Any politican who is afraid to face the elephant in the living room, has no business being elected.

2. This is why there might not BE an election in November.
Like Bartcop says, no despot in history who has wielded the power Smirk now wields has ever relinquished it voluntarily. The Republicans CANNOT AFFORD a Democratic takeover of the Congress. And -- since my experience convinces me that there is NOTHING rightwingnuts will not do to inflict their will on others -- I'm more than halfway convinced that (as Bartcop speculates) Bush/Rove/Cheney might stage some horrible MIHOP "terrorist" attack along toward the end of October, that they would use as an excuse to declare, in essence, martial law.

Te Patriot Act already gives te federal government power to seize and incarcerate, without habeus corpus, people they deem to be a 'threat' to 'national security.'

Can it happen here?

It already has.
