I'm starting to see conspiracies everywhere.
I finally watched "Three Kings" last night and it occurred to me that when Bush 1st encouraged people to rise up against Saddam he tied up both Saddam and the Kurds with no cost to himself or his oil buddies. Maybe Bush 2nd really thought that Iraqis would welcome the US with flowers and cheers. Is it not possible though, that some in his administration expected and welcomed that the Shiite vs Sunni antagonism would escalate into open warfare? All those groups are going to need to sell oil in order to keep buying guns.

1. I think I caught the last 1/3 of 'Three Kings'...so I was really clueless
about the entire movie. Hope it comes back on...since they repeat stupid movies like JAWS time and time again!

3. It's a great movie unless you have TMJ.
After it was over last night, I spent 10 minutes lecturing my two youngest about the Kafkaesque horrors of George 1st's war - the countdown to the bombing of Baghdad on live TV, the highway of death, burying Iraqi soldiers alive in their trenches, our troops wearing earphones tuned to rock music while driving tanks into battle...It was as if Terry Gilliam wrote the script!

2. As long as there's violence, they have an excuse to stay there
and profit from other peoples' misery and death.

It's so BFEE.

As to what Junior expected -- he expected everyone around him to CYA for him as they always have done. This morning Iheard Tammy Bruce scapegoating Condi for our foreign policy. So, the circle is complete. They set her up to be the fall guy in case the public noticed to well how horrendous this "policy" has been. That's why they hired her and not someone else. She's so easy for the 30percenters to hate, no?
