Wasn't Camus a COMMUNIST?
And didn't * say he learned a lot from reading Camus?

Inquiring minds want to know wtf he learned (or is that word an oxymoron in this instance?).

1. Not quite
But still an antiwar firebrand and close to socialist at least.

As well as an atheist existentialist who believed there was no "ultimate truth" to life.

3. He joined the French Communist Party in 1934 but quit in '36
Camus joined the French Communist Party in 1934, apparently for concern over the political situation in Spain (which eventually resulted in the Spanish Civil War) rather than support for Marxist-Leninist doctrine. In 1936, the independence-minded Algerian Communist Party (PCA) was founded. Camus joined the activities of Le Parti du Peuple Algérien, which got him into trouble with his communist party comrades. As a result, he was denounced as a Trotskyite, and quit the party in 1936. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Camus#Early_years

4. Well, if he starts reading Sartre, Langston Hughers or Richard Wright,
to name a few Communist writers, he should be investigated by HUAC.

5. Sartre was a Marxist, Camus was not
Camus objected in a famous essay about Sartre's excusing human rights violations by the Communists. I forget the name of the essay.

12. He pronounced "Camus" correctly, BUT, sadly,
he did not attempt "existentialist."

15. I think Bushie would find a more kindred spirit and
ideological camradie reading "Mein Kampf" by Adolf Hitler. After all his administration is following the ideology set forth in it in many ways, the divide and conquer strategy, the propaganda techniques, racial hatred, the micromanaging of it's citizens lives.
