If Flanders is replacing Malloy, she doesn't know about it

Laura and the weekday

Dear bloggers. While the rumor mill is spinning. We have been told absolutely nothing about moving to the week, let alone to replace Mike Malloy in his late night slot. We were as shocked as everyone about Malloy, who is a kindred spirit. Everything else really is speculation. AAR management is making changes, but the last we've been told we're staying in our weekend perch.

We would be telling you guys first if there were changes. Our response to the develpments at AAR is to do what we do best - more programming that brings voices to the airwaves and political debate that we feel need to be heard. That's the healthiest thing we can do.

2. The Hell?!
What?! Ok, there cannot be any more debate about this: Air America's management is FUBAR.

Check this out:

Janeane left AAR over 9/11 disagreement?

http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/449008p-378008c.html

Was it a disagreement over covering the 9/11 anniversary that cost Janeane Garofalo her perch on Air America? She went from being a daily co-host to "guest host" status in July, for reasons that were not clear at the time. Now a source says she's telling friends it was a Sept. 11 bustup that lead to the move. "She said she quit because she asked to do a segment where she intended to interview some FDNY 9/11 heroes, and the radio brass killed the idea," says a snitch. Garofolo's manager wouldn't comment beyond saying, "That may very well be true." An Air America Radio spokeswoman, however, denied that version of the story. "Janeane left AAR to pursue other professional opportunities, and we completely supported her decision," she said.

---

Why would AAR care if the interviewed FDNY people who were there at the WTCs?! Do they have a story to tell that DOES NOT jive with the "official" (read: BOGUS!) story?

4. Janeane Garofalo had a disagreement on the air with Sam Seder
...over her repeated interviews with people whose lungs were hurt from working at the WTC site who claim to have been successfully treated with a Scientology method.

Seder considered the treatment unscientific and said enough already.

Maybe AAR management agreed with Seder.

However, I think the main reason Janeane Garofalo left is that she didn't enjoy doing a radio show every day, which is something she previously said on-air.

Also, the Daily News columnist doesn't provide the context, and makes it sound like AAR managment is against honoring firemen.
