Elaine Chao, twisted the facts about unemploymentt on CNN
Edited on Sun Sep-03-06 10:58 AM by Orrin_73
today. She said that the present unemployment was 4.7% and that was a full percentage point above the average of the 1990's. What she did not mention was that between 1990 and 1992 the president was a repub and the unemployment was 8%, and that during the Clinton presidency the unemployment went down to 4%. So if you take the average of 1990's then you come to 5.7% but she said that to mean that they are doing it much better then Clinton. It surprises me that the repubs are still obsessed with Clinton, unbelievable!!!

2. The Department of Labor...
Under Elaine Chao, is The Factory of Lies. They make shit up, they hide countering data and they are actively ignorant.

In spite of her history, she is no academic; she is an idealogue of the worst stripe.

3. At the risk of getting royally flamed.
Clinton changed the way the unemployment rate is calculated in the hopes of making it a more accurate tool. However, IMHO, it was a mistake to stop counting some categories of the unemployed. If the same criteria were used today that was used prior to the change, the current unemployment rate would be over 12%.

6. this is not clintons fault. it is the way bushco rigs the numbers to show
what they want them to show. the truth is an impediment to their goals.

4. Elaine Chao is a criminal. She lies about everything....
She's the one who wanted to make fast food employees, manufacturers, so she could bring up the number of manufacturing jobs. She created a new software program for the Unemployment departments and changed the categories for a lot a jobs. Now it's impossible to get the real numbers. The real unemployment number is probably 10%. The number of part-time jobs is probably 15%. Don't forget about Elaine Chao when it's time to put BUSHCO in PRISON!

5. the 4.7% is a huge lie anyway. they have screwed with the accounting of
all government numbers to where they are meaningless.

unemployment is probably worse than the 8% that is was under old bush.

7. One major change under Mrs. McConnell is that the Labor Dept.
now includes employment figures at fast food joints as manufacturing jobs. Yeah, low wage, unskilled, entry level positions for teenagers are now being included in the manufacturing of cars, building, etc. to pump up the numbers (after all, "building" a hamburger does produce a product). We are bleeding jobs from every sector yet they claim how many jobs they have added to the rolls by fudging the figures - surprise, surprise. I'm sure that the laid off union man will be glad to hear that manufacturing jobs are flourishing under Bush & The Cabal while his unemployment benefits disappear. Mrs. McConnell is unqualified, untruthful, hateful and skating along on hubby coattail. The only punishment she will ever had to suffer for his misdeeds in having to crawl in bed with Mortician McConnell every night.
