1. Harris will win the GOP primary...then get beat 3-1 in the general....
At least, that's what the polls last week said...

2. .
Governor John Ellis "Jeb" Bush (as candidate)
• First elected: 1998; re-elected: 2002
• Chair up for election: Tuesday 7 November 2006
• The current Governor is affected by a term limit and cannot run for re-election.
• Open Chair

Does that mean that Jeb will have to go? Who will most likely follow?

3. She's in the lead in the polls going into the primary -
Read an article this morning that says she's going to lay low these last few days to avoid further screw-ups.

Here we go:

University of Florida political science professor Dan Smith said staying away from people at this point probably makes sense for Harris, whose campaign so far has been fraught with missteps and problems.

"I think it's a pretty wise decision, to try to minimize any potential gaffes in the run-up to the election," Smith said. "When you're sitting ahead in the polls, there's no reason to make waves."
>snip<

Chris Ingram, a former Harris staffer who now manages Collins' campaign, acknowledged that minimizing Harris' public appearances this weekend is "a good strategy for her, because she can't get in trouble running her mouth and writing checks the campaign facts can't cash."

and another tidbit:

>snip<
She said she fully expects to win the primary on Tuesday, followed by the general election in November, and knows she will have the support of Gov. Jeb Bush, who urged other Republicans to jump into the race before the May deadline, after openly expressing doubts about Harris.

“He wanted someone else to get in the race, but that was back in May,” Harris said. “That was a political ploy. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we don’t.”

Unh hunh. See, John Ellis Bushbush just said he wanted someone else in the race, but he didn't really mean it. It was all a 'political ploy' to get her elected.

She know God is on her side. Armed with spunk, moxie, her guide dog, her possum, her vial of celestial drops, her second pocketful of illegal contributions, the secret terrorist plans, the widow's mite, a cup of 'extra hot venti triple latte, no fat, no foam, one Sweet’N Low', and her concealed weapons permit, she's going to put her renovated D.C. residence to good use. Why else would she have pulled $100,000.00 from her campaign to update her home theater?

It all makes sense now.

GOOD PLAN, Kat.

get your motor runnin'
