Just saw "V for Vendetta" -- WOW -- Reminds me of today's situation

1. I saw it when it came out.

It seems to become more relevant with every passing week.

Just the other day, I found myself idly daydreaming about whether the DC Metro has a line that runs underneath the Capitol.

2. LOVE it

Saw it on IMAX, got the special edition DVD with mask, going to be V for Halloween etc. I'm a lesbian and I found the Valerie story to be extremely moving, and one of the most effective statements for gay rights I've seen in a mainstream film. The film shows the direction we are heading and we'll be there soon if the Rethugs manage to keep lying, cheating, and stealing their way into office.

Plus Gordon's speech about the wearing of masks sums up the closet better than I have ever heard. I am amazed that a mainstream film had this much gay imagery but evidently the comics had most of it as well.

3. Saw it at the Movies and I bought it when it came out on DVD..

It Fucking rocks!! V is not a terroist he is a libera(L)tor!!!! Its an important message from Alan Moore and we all need to take heed....

4. I saw it tonight, too. I think I'm going to spend time in 5 year old mode

with this film. You know, watching it obsessively and over and over and over again until I get it all....

7. I found the movie rather sobering

Apparently the US bankrupted itself and lost superpower status because of Iraq, and the UK severed ties with the US. I guess the war had turned into a world war, and it didn't turn out well for the US or most of the world.

8. Loved it

Made me a fan. I understand there are some major differences to the original comic/graphic novel, but not having read it previously allowed me to enjoy the film for what it is.

12. I just saw it too

I watched it Friday night. I found it to be very sad. The ending was not sad, but the Valerie story and what happened to Evie's parents (and many others) made me sad. I certainly hope nothing like that ever happens.
The scene that stuck out most to me was when the dectective was reading the woman doctor's journal about the drug experimentation they were doing on the "undesirables". She said something about how depressed the patients were and how if they knew what they were doing for their country, they would be happier. She then stated she was growing to hate them. I don't know why, but I found that to be particularly chilling. I guess it was because she was someone who did have a conscience, but was still brainwashed enough by the powers that be to turn her conscience off.
It was a good movie, but a little depressing (sorry, I'm a little shallow). I really, really enjoyed the ending.

13. Just saw it a couple of nights ago

After the movie was over, I logged onto DU and saw the numerous posts about KO's commentary which I then watched online. The powerful message of V coupled with KO's words reduced me to tears. While the parallels that exist between the movie and the reality we are living chilled me to the bone, I believe that people are beginning see the truth and because of true patriots like KO, I have hope. I will always have an underlying fear of futility, but I do have hope for the first time in a very long time.

18. i watched it for the first time last night

last night with my son. we both agreed it was an excellent movie. it lead us into a hours long discussion of the parallels of our time, and my son was quick to point out the parallels to Nazi Germany too. it was an interesting day for social/political discussion. we watched "To Kill A Mockingbird" (it is a favorite of his and mine) then we caught a documentary on A&E about the Aryan Nation, then V for Vendetta...

All of the elements added to the movie (as opposed to the 1980s comic) say the same thing: 9/11 was an inside job, biowarfare is next.
