Jesus Camp
"How many want to be those who would give up their lives for Jesus?"
see the movie trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RNfL6IVWCE

These people are succeeding in taking over the government of our country. These are a more serious threat to our way of life than any foreign terrorist organization. Democrats must take this threat seriously.

I sure don't want to live in a theocracy. :scared:

1. I've heard of this
I really don't think it would be possible to install a theoctratic government upon a large and diverse country such as the U.S. The GOP is going to lose bad in the midterms. Bush's approval ratings are in the crapper. A New Engalnd "liberal", John Kerry nearly won the Presidency. This country would never accept a theocracy.

2. I agree to an extent, but never say never.
Germany in the 1920s was one of the most liberal countries in the world (for its time). Art, theatre and literature fed a culture of permissiveness, openness and social mobility never before possible. Within a decade, however, the Nazis, who had been busily building their power base throughout the '20s, had consolidated their power and turned the country into an authoritarian hell.

4. true
They might succeed in Utah or Alabama or Kansas (no offense to DU'ers in those states). Hope they try to come to the rest of the country though because they won't make it.

6. I wouldn't say that about Kansas.
First, Kansans have a really great Democratic Party organization and a Governor who is making a name by convincing Repugs to turn into Democrats.

Second, the Republican Party in Kansas are a bunch of lunatic theocrats and they make few attempts to hide it. However, there are many moderate Republicans around--this *is* the state that elected Nancy Kassebaum to the Senate.

Third, the radical Repugs have already given the state considerable bad press with their creationist lunacies. And like in Dover, the lunatics have been driven out.

Good things are happening in Kansas.

7. This is a stealth effort
these people are patient and sneaky. They have been working on this for decades. Dang they have managed now to get one of theirs elected president and are one appointment away from owning the supreme court. This is the death of democracy by a thousand nicks.

The council for national policy was founded by Tim LaHaye in 1981.
http://demopedia.democraticunderground.com/index.php/Council_for_National_Policy

In an interview on PBS Ted Haggard (Co. megachurch pastor) admitted that "the whitehouse" calls him WEEKLY.

THese people are attacking on all fronts.

I'm afraid we are going to lose our democracy because most people think it can't happen here.

3. Domestic threates are often what should be take the most seriously...
...Look at USSR, like 20,000,000 killed by their own government. Happened all over the world in the 20th century, probably more dead that way than all the wars combined...and I am supposed to be afraid of crazies overseas? I'll take homegrown threats like this one to heart, thank you.

5. What these people forget is that Jesus doesn't want to be self-imposed.
You find Him and accept Him.... its all about choices. and if you live your life imaging what he taught then, you will find peace within yourself and peace around the world... But it all about the choice... You come to him by yourself not forcfully.

11. Its theocracy in the making.....
The leaders of these 'terrorist' cults may not believe at all, they are useing the religion as a tool to manipulate masses to get them to do their bidding.

Some people are easy to manipulate, because they are weak. What the Xtian Shamen does is use 'word magic' to get those weak people into their flock. The difference between the method cultist use and that of progressives is that prorgressives choice not to lie to people to get them to work for a much more rewarding cause and to work for goals that EVERYONE will benefit from.

From that reading I was given conclusion to what I already knew, the religion is a control system and people are falling prey to it...

WE NEED TO ACT NOW!
