My Parents Got a Congratulation From *
My parents are having their 50th anniversary this weekend. At dinner, Mom asks me if we turned their name in to the White House for some special congratulations. Apparently, they got a congratulations card from the White House, with * and Laura's signatures on it. I told her that it wasn't us. They probably found out through the NSA tapping their phones, and passing that message along to KKKarl. They're now on a Republican Party mailing list. (Mom is active in the Dem party, and they're both campaign workers for Casey in PA.) I also told her that I'd take it to line our cats' litter box with.

So, I do have ONE good thing to say about *. My Mom and Dad have a card with his signature stamped onto it congratulating them on their 50th Anniversary.

BTW, Mom passed along that a friend of hers whose late husband was an alcoholic is DEAD SURE that * is drinking, by the way his mouth moves. He's got all of the same body language as her late husband.

1. So, the NSA sends anniversary cards?
That's nice. They ought to do something with all that information they amass. I'll look forward to my birthday card.

Happy 50th Anniversary to your parents.

2. My dad got a birthday card from * six days after he died
If it would have been printed on more absorbent paper we would've had a use for it.

3. Of course he's been drinking off and on
His performance at the G8 was a drunken one.

I think Putin got him drinking. There was a really classic photo of Putin looking at him across a banquet table, totally alarmed and taken aback. Then there was the drunken mauling of the Chancellor of Germany.

Anybody who's been married to a drunk knew all the expressions on Stupid's face during the G8. We knew that expression on Putin's face, too, we've seen it in mirrors.

His continued neurological deterioration is a sign he's continued to drink on the sly. From my observations, they'd managed to sober him up and keep him sober since shortly before the 2004 campaign. Putin shoved him off the wagon.

I think the Secret Service has him on a very short leash now. It's going to be very hard for him to oil his brains until he's out of office.

8. I agree, and well said:
"We knew that expression on Putin's face, too, we've seen it in mirrors."

All too well.

I had KIND OF believed Bush was drinking again, but thought that maybe he'd had a stroke or something like that (remember the debate when he was drooling?) but after his behavior at the G8, I was convinced. That embarrassing mic/pigfest incident with Tony was what finally did the trick for me, and then the Merkel groping just further confirmed it.

10. If he'd been sitting silently at the table, I'd have recognized it
It's the dead eyes, the slackened jaw. He wasn't just drunk, he was blotto.

5. My inlaws got a letter from * for their 50th Anniversary 2 weeks ago
And they are NOT Republicans! My MIL brought the letter to their party, just to give me a laugh!

7. Just a guess, but I'd bet that this is in preparation for a new PR push.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he mentions sending out these notes during the next SOTU address and uses it as a starting point for a new push for "family values". Then he'll propose spending so many billions to teach abstinance and offer more tax cuts for married people to have more kids.

9. My sister in law suggested that we put my parents names on the list...
apparently, that is how her parents got one for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. I told her my mom would be horrified to have anything with Bush's signature commemerating her 50th wedding anniversary... my dad voted for him so he probably wouldn't mind. That is cool, though, that the white house does this... but I thought someone had to register you to get one - I could be wrong though.

12. Someone has to send in a request. We requested one for our
son when he became an Eagle Scout. Thank God President Clinton was in office then. It was signed by Bill and Hillary. We have it framed. Also my husband's grandmother received one from the Clinton's when she turned 100 years old. We would never have requested either one from **!!
