Rove's Word Is No Longer G.O.P. Gospel
Karl Rove, the president's chief political adviser, is struggling to steer the Republican Party to victory this fall at a time when he appears to have the least political authority since he came to Washington, party officials said.

Mr. Rove remains a dominant adviser to President Bush, administration officials say. But outside the White House, as President Bush's popularity has waned, and as questions have arisen among Republicans about the White House's political acumen, the party's candidates are going their own way in this difficult election season far more than they have in any other campaign Mr. Rove has overseen.

Some are disregarding Mr. Rove's advice, despite his reputation as the nation's premier strategist. They are criticizing Mr. Bush or his policies. They are avoiding public events with the president and Mr. Rove.

Influential conservative commentators have openly broken with the White House, calling into question the continued enthusiasm of evangelicals, economic conservatives and other groups that Mr. Rove has counted on to win elections. . Some Republicans are ignoring Mr. Rove's efforts to hold the party together on issues like immigration and Iraq.

1. I'll Believe This
When I see a wooden stake through his heart pinning him to his burial at a crossroads.

3. Amen, Deacon, Amen. This bunch of thugs would genuflect in front
of KKKarl to get re-elected by any one of his dirty tricks if they thought it would work. They don't care he is an amoral, lying, cheating, one step below pond scum asswipe that would kill his own mother to keep this party in power. They gave up their right to the moral high ground years back with they let KKKarl & Company do their dirty work while "looking" the other way. If they aren't publicly going on record saying they do not condone this man then they are complicit by their silence. You may think you can step away and pretend you don't know him but the stain will be forever on your nose. Put up or shut up, but until then, boys, pucker up because this is a contact sport.

2. I seem to remember that 'pubs were given
permission to break with B*sh on Iraq, as long as they didn't stray from the fold on the "Global War on Terror"..

Isn't that what was said at the RNC meeting a couple of months ago?

5. Absolutely
which again reinforces how far "journalism" has sunk in this country.

8. Yup. Their breaking with Rove is Rovian.
Rove's polling numbers are low, so the GOP thinks they can use him for a bank shot like this.

7. Rove's "Gospel" permeates the GOP. The smell and stain of it...
... is on all of their leaders. They created pure disaster for our country. Anyone waiting for them to admit it outright is going to be waiting a long time.

A losing football coach is thrown out with his staff. The same logic has to be used with Rove, Bush, and their lackeys. They are responsible for America's losing streak. They all have to go, no matter how much they protest, no matter how much they pretend to change. It's too late for them.

11. "Strategist"?? Since when did smears, lies, and f*cking people over
become a "strategy"?

Rove is a slimy, smarmy, hateful piece of shit. He is a one trick pony. Too bad it has taken the GOP faithful this long to realize it.
