But the fall of Ralph Reed clued me into something that I found out was true of one or two other people as well.

I always that Reed was a religious guy who got fired up to jump into politics, but in fact, he went the other way. He was an associate of Norquist and those guys, and moved into Christian circles to guide the Christian Coalition.

Tim LaHaye who wrote the Left Behind books was a John Bircher in his younger days.

So it is likely that the crap they feed their flocks is shaped to fit the needs of the GOP, rather than the GOP bending to them.
