I love(d) listening to Mike Malloy's first few blocks and his commentary, rage, humor and plain unabashed honesty was/is a refreshing way to end the day. When he would take apart a Bush speech and skewer the nonsense with his style, it was uproariously funny.
But, man... when the same goofballs that call Art Bell start calling in on Mike's show, you could just hear his boredom with them ring out. I mean, you'd hear some dimwit say "Hey Mike, didja ever hears of the Projects For New American Centuries, huh, didja..." and you could almost hear Mike's eyes roll in utter shock that his audience seemed to be cartoonish buffoons. Some of his Atlanta fans would call and make garblish quackery and then hang up on him...
I could detect Mike's frustration with some of the more recent shows where he would almost slam the door on the Art Belloids calling with stuff about Iran-Contra, tired old stories about Bush's grandpa and the usual stuff most Mike Malloy fans have heard and talked about for years...
Not all the callers were lame, just a large percentage IMHO...
Mike will resurface somewhere on the dial or on the net and hopefully will have more interviews and other features and less claptrap from callers that frankly are embarrassing to most progressives.
I could see how Mike would have asked for a lot more money to deal with the long second halves of his shows.
