Hi folks,

Its time for a reality check on the Guy James Show. It costs money to run the program and donations are not coming close to keeping up with expenses. I 've been willing to pay most of the bills myself for nearly 4 years but its getting to be a heavy burden. Unless we receive some serious help in the next few days I'm afraid the show will soon be history. Thanks to all who already donate. You are the ones the others owe for being able to listen to the program.

5. Welcome to the hard realities of the radio world

plus trying to be a liberal show in sea of rightwing hate shows that seem endlessly awash in cash.

Perhaps liberal/left radio needs to pursue a different path for now....like total underwriting by one or a few well to do people symnpathetic to our views. Because certainly, the market in the current times does not favor us.

8. That's not the real problem

The main problem is that it's a webcast-only show. No terrestrial radio presense.

Internet radio is not to the point where it is a viable advertising model (except for the biggies like Digitally Imported or RadioIo). Stand-alone talk shows are a tough proposition.

Add to that the difficulties of running a one-man show (finding advertisers, etc) and this makes it even more difficult.

Bernie Ward, Ray Tallifero, Stephanie Miller, Lizz Brown, will soon be marginalised as well.

The Republicans are getting elected in November.
