Laura Flanders to be Malloy's permanent replacement on 9/18?
Edited on Fri Sep-01-06 12:57 PM by CaseyBuck
From http://libertyinchaos.livejournal.com/17390.html:

UPDATE - 10:20AM California Time
It has just been confirmed that Laura Flanders, of the Nation Magazine's Radio Program 'RadioNation', will be replacing Mike Malloy in his timeslot beginning September 18th.

Starting this coming Tuesday, Jon Elliott, The Most Dangerous Liberal In America, will be guest hosting for Laura in this time slot while she makes the transition.

Looks like Mike's not coming back through Air America...

2. I don't think I will be listening.
I don't like the way this whole thing happened. I am not especially fond of Laura's show on Sunday anyway. She does a lot of good things, but she follows The Nation's tendency to criticize Democrats without really knowing the facts.

I have turned her show off several times for that.

12. I agree with you. I don't like the fact that it happened, but I especially
don't like the "way" it happened. AAR is no better than the corporatists its hosts so frequently deride, imho.

Flanders is horrible, awful, crappy, terrible and did I say horrible. Where's that petition to bring back Mike Malloy?

15. She's OK.
And I can't stand Malloy.

But I don't like the way it was done by AAR.

8. Laura is OK. But Mike is the king. AAR screwed up and they
are going to pay via a massive migration of audience to whereever Mike ends up.

16. Laura Flanders is Totally a Different Show
Edited on Fri Sep-01-06 03:32 PM by waldnorm
With the focus on interviews with artists and activists, and certainly has a spirit of the grassroots . . . but compared to the entertaining aspects of Malloy and the vent of rage for all who are frustrated each day, the polite and capable interviewer Laura would be very, very different. I'd rather Laura be at a different time slot. I'm just trying to visualize this new evening--Rachel Maddow--David Bender--EcoTalk--Laura Flanders-- quite a lot of substance here . . . quite a difference via Sam/Janeane and Mike Malloy. I'd rather there be more of a mix of substance/entertainment/personality, etc. for nights. It looks like it ends pretty much with Randi at 6 eastern, before we get pretty cerebral.
