Do you remember the first time you saw Faux news?
For me it was in 1999, I was not into politics like I am now.

A friend of mine told me to tune in one day & watch Bill O'Reilly. Like the gullible person I once was, I did. In the first 5 minutes of the show I was dumbstruck on how any news organization would give this guy a show. Soon afterwords I figured out what Faux news was all about, & that my friends is what started me on searching for the truth through the internet.

I am also proud to say that I have not watched Faux news since. I don't believe in that crap "keep your enemies close". My stomach just can't handle it.

1. I was leaning over a toilet, puking up some bad clams
I saw Hannity's face swirling around a clam-ladden Bill O'Reilly. Ever since then, I get sick if I even THINK about Fo...Foo....Ufhhhlaldhl...Oh...shit..........uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHURL :puke:

2. Fortunately, we don't receive it in the UK, but I saw "OutFoxed" and
I remember how very, very shocked and angry I felt as a result. It was the first time I was exposed to O'Reilly, Hannity & Colmes et al, and I was sick to my stomach. It really is ghastly.

If you haven't seen "OutFoxed", I strongly recommend it, great documentary and sadly under-rated.

5. I remember the last time I watched it.
I was on vacation at the beach. I'd just woken up with a tremendous hangover, and tried to chase it off with about fifty bong hits. Turned on the TV, and it was already tuned to Fox. People were jumping out of a burning building and the reporters were pretending to be near-hysterical.

"Jeez," I said to my vacationing pal, "I guess these guys have just decided to start making shit up."

Then I flipped down to CNN, and they were showing the same thing. It was September 11, 2001.

8. If it wasn't about such an awful day, that post would be very funny!
But it conjures up how very, very strange 11 September 2001 was. A day unlike any other.

10. I'm sorry if that bummed you folks out.
Now I feel like a threadkiller. But there's one more thing I need to say: most of the images that I still carry with me from that day, the truly scarring images, they all came from the five minutes of Fox News coverage that I watched that day. They were the bastards showing the truly horrifying stuff which all the other networks studiously witheld. And that's when I quit watching Fox.

I also can't help wondering if somehow the differing coverage of that day also helped to divide America. How many of the knuckle-draggers turned on Fox as usual that day and got a full, hours-long dose of that horrid business, and what has it done to their psyches?

What if it was planned that way?

9. The first mug I saw when I turned it on
in 1999 was O'reilly (I don't care if I mis-spell his name, it's not worth the effort to spell it right). The first thing I heard out of his mouth was "I have absolutely no respect for Hillary Clinton." I was shocked. I had never heard anyone on a so-called "news show" directly insult a politician before. That wasn't the "fair and balamced" I was expecting.

11. I've never willingly watched it.
I blocked it using parental controls, so the only time I've actually seen it is if it's on in a public place.
