Can it be that we have reached the lower limit on supporting our embarrassing failure of a president? Can it be that we have 35% of our citizens who simply will not or cannot face the truth about the crooks and liars we have running the country?

I suppose in a country where 50% of the people think we found WMD in Iraq (a repeatedly debunked falsehood), maybe finding that 35% worship Jeebus W. Butthead makes some kind of sense.

I saw a survey that found that 72% of our troops in Iraq believe that they are there to "avenge 9/11", an amazing number in the light of the president's recent statement that nobody ever suggested a connection between Saddam and 9/11. Where did they get the idea then?

The willingness of a such a large portion of the American public to willingly believe lies and reject truth is truly mind-boggling. And desperately, desperately sad. What is wrong with these people?
