It's one thing to insult people in other countries
but when the president of this land starts insulting the citizens of his own country, that's where the line gets drawn. That motherfucking bush insulted the citizens of America today just as Rumsfeld did yesterday, just as Cheney does almost daily. It is time for every motherfuckin' one of these people to go! People have insulted me before, and that's all right, I've been ripped by better people than that, but when the alleged "leader of the free world" starts questioning my patriotism and that of my fellow citizens just because we dare to question his handling of an illegal war among many many other things, then I get really angry. I love this country more than they ever will. I believe in equal rights for all people, I believe in education for all people, I believe in helping those who may have trouble helping themselves, I believe in National health care, like every free country in the whole damn world has, and I believe in the rights guaranteed to all of us in the U.S. Constitution. These people don't. Thank you for letting me rant. I feel better now. But we still need to get bush/cheney/rummy out and the sooner the better.

2. My Son serves in Iraq... Would the President like to
question my patriotism?

Would he really like to tell me I don't love my country?

My only Son fights in his war... I dare him to say it to my face...

Hear that? I am calling you out to say I am unpatriotic because I believe Iraq was wrong, even though my Son fights there and I want this man to look me in my eyes and tell me I am unpatriotic......

</end rant>

21. Thank you for your thoughts
We appreciate all the kindness everyone has shown us since my Son has been gone... I hope that I will see him for Thanksgiving, he is supposed to come home, but we are not sure, things are not settled at all over there, and they just don't know....

7. Please thank your son for me
He surely is a brave and decent man. At least he has the cajones to fight for his country and stand up for his beliefs. My thoughts and prayers are with you and him as well. Hope he makes it back alive and in one piece.

22. You raise them to be the best person they can be....
I am proud of him despite my feelings about the war, I understand he stands by his commitment.. One of the hardest things he had to do was after he had his 2 week leave, he knew he had to go back, but I tell you, it weighed heavily upon him, he wrestled and told me he did not want to go back...

It is hard to be a parent who is a liberal when your Son fights in an illegal war and you want to say all kinds of things about it.. I bite my tongue and keep it to myself... He just needs to know to stay safe right now.. He can learn about the wrongness of this war when he comes home for good....

3. Senior did it too.
In attacking Clinton he mentioned something derogatory about all of the people of Arkansas.

6. GHW always was contemptous about Clinton
Edited on Thu Aug-31-06 07:38 PM by Maccagirl
He couldn't believe he could possibly lose to a "hick"-the Rhodes Scholarship and Yale Law Degree notwithstanding. I have never figured why Clinton has been so gracious to him, unless it's a Machiavellian (sp)swipe at junior.

17. ubchristian, unpatriotic, unamerican.... even terrorist. yes i agree
when i talk to republicans i tell them, this is why i would never vote republican ever, for any reason and my issue with my republican fellowman that stands next to me. this is too far. and shame on the people i know who vote republican and didnt stand by my side while their party said these things about me. just shame on them.

it is effective.

i think on some levels this is what outrages me the most about this administration

18. That's an artificial line.
It's not ok to insult people, period, regardless of what continent, nation, tribe, or gang they happen to belong to.

It's not ok to insult the rest of the world, and it hasn't benefitted the U.S. since 2000.

Someone who thinks it's ok to insult one group, but not another, is like someone who thinks it's ok to lie to some people, but not others. Do you ever really believe them?

Draw the line where it belongs, between respect and insult, period.

23. Sorry. I didn't mean it's ok to insult other countries
I guess it does look like the meaning of the post, but it isn't. But don't lecture me. It didn't work when I was a youngster and it won't work now.

24. Oops.
In real life, my adult sons keep me honest. In cyber-life, the teacher sometimes sneaks out. My apologies if that felt like lecturing, and thanks for the clarification.
