Missile-Defense Test Postponed by Fog
http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/nat-gen/2006/aug/31/083101126.html

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (AP) - A key test of the nation's missile defense system was postponed Thursday because of fog in Alaska, authorities said.

An interceptor missile was supposed to have been launched from this California base on a near-collision course with a missile lifting off from Kodiak Island in Alaska.

However, Kodiak was socked in by fog and the launch was put off until Friday at the earliest, Vandenberg spokesman Jack Hokanson.

8. Certainly they would never think about doing it
on a foggy day in August.

The enemy is so polite. They surely will wait for better weather and for W to get back from vacation.

7. I Don't Know Why Fog Would Matter
Since Dumsfeld said they weren't planning on hitting the missile anyway...

9. Note to bad guys:
It's considered bad form to launch missiles:
a) at night
b) on a foggy day
c) during the super bowl, or other national holidays
d) on a day it might rain. Or snow. Or the wind might blow.

thanks for your kind attention.

15. That is because it was a TEST, and they needed the cameras.
When a test missile is fired, cameras are on it from before launch to as far as it can be seen. Fog stops the cameras from recording the missile. It has nothing to do with the capabilities of the system itself.
