Bush said this speech was not "political"...
Did he lie? It looked very political to me? Does it matter that he lied? Should he be called on it? Compared to some of the whoppers he has told, this was just a little "white lie". We all know it was a lie - even his supporters. So we should just overlook it??

1. I asked elsewhere whether this "distinction" enables them to
stick taxpayers with the bill.

4. Good point...
The RNC would have to pay for the trip if it was "political". Still, the lies should bother every American. If Clinton had said the same, he would have been called on it.

6. sure. he came to Mn. last week and, in a neat trick...
...spoke on heath care to some regional convention; then went to a fundraiser for the extreme gay=bashing congressional candidate, state sen. michelle bachmann. (remember the name; she is fundamentalist crazy all the way.)
so the taxpayers get to pay for that little jaunt....

2. Probably a lie, but
if so it's unimportant.

Why? It's a very minor lie compared to others, isn't it? Isn't it the kind of lie all politicians will tell? It is. And to lump it together as "a lie" with the BIG lies, well, doesn't that sort of trivialize the big lies? IMO, it odes.

5. Anytime he opens his mouth to speak...
...he lies. How can you tell he's lying?? His lips are moving.

8. Were his lips moving?
If you answer in the affirmative, then by definition any grunts, snorts, or mispronunciations which emanated from his piehole were lies.

9. If BushCo says it, it's not political
If ANYONE responds and call them on their lies, their speech IS political.

Sheesh! :banghead:

10. Of COURSE it was political...it was ENTIRELY political
David Gregory pointed that out IMMEDIATELY, before the chump had even waddled off the stage. You don't whine about Democrats in a "nonpolitical" speech.

It wasn't a little 'white lie.' It was a giant lie, the size of a fresh pile of elephant dung. IT's much too big to overlook.

He's trying once again to "frame the debate." Well, that boy has cried WOLF once too often. This schtick has become OLD. He sends out his minions to saturate the airwaves with buzzwords and phrases ahead of his little presentation, and then he gets up and grunts his way through a diatribe.

It's worked in the past. This time, though, his presentation was FORCED. Not just his articulation, but the drone of the words themselves. It didn't sell.

11. He spoke here in Nashville at a POLITICAL fund raiser for Senate.
What did he talk about??? Stay the course. what else.

Raised 1.5 million for our Millionaire wannabe senator. This guy, Corker, made 4.5 million in the construction business last year, and now wants a job that pays about 150,000.00 a year? Hmmmm,......

12. The thing is..
... even the less savvy Americans know a political speech when they hear one. This is where the RW is cutting their own throats, every time Bush** says something like this, a few more Americans realize he's a fucking liar 24/7.
