Every show that has a call-in feature is beseiged by people who have a visceral hatred of Bush, and whose words just pour out like a broken fire hydrant.
More and more of these shows structure a "special" topic or question to deliberately AVOID the discussion of the president or his henchmen.
Ordinary people have little or no voice, and the opportunity to finally be heard is a delicious endeavor.
It's actually entertaining to hear people call in and start to answer the question, and midstream, they pour out their hearts before the host hits the "dump button"..
I keep remembering brian Lamb's insensitivity after the 2k debacle. One morning as person after person called in to rant about bush, he actually said " It's been SIX MONTHS, aren;t you people over this yet"?
The people on tv and radio (most of them) are inside the same bubble, amd I don;t think they really get just how angry half of the nation is..
One dumb guy steals a car and takes a freeway jaunt, and all eyes on every channel are fixated for hours, sometimes, and yet a whole country and it's treasure is stolen right in front of us..in broad daylight, with the SCOTUS's blessing, and it's like it never happened..
and when people continue to try and get their feelings out, they get cut off and ignored..
I have often wished that c-span would stop showing stuff taped years ago, and just open up the lines for people to call in and have their say ...
