Casino near Gettysburg?...
Edited on Thu Aug-31-06 12:23 AM by SaveElmer
I don't understand why developers always seem to have a need to put up their projects near the what, .000001% of our country set aside as historical areas.

Look at virtually every Revolutionary and Civil War battlefield in the country, and all of them are going through these struggles.

Disney near Mansassas, Wal Mart within sight of George Washington's birthplace....and on and on..

It's like a moth to a flame...makes my head explode!

1. The only growth business left in this country is gambling.
The whole place is rotting away.

4. Foreclosure specialists, car re-possessors and call centers for
collecting past due credit card bills are all seeing an increase right now.

2. I try not to sling terms like "sacrilege" around casually, but a casino
near the battlesite at Gettysburg would qualify as a sacrilege, IMO.

It dishonors those who "gave their last full measure of devotion."

3. Barf City
These trash bins are erected near our hallowed ground in the hopes that someone will deposit cash in them.
Given the current situation, the only way to make them disappear is to starve them for money.
If no one stopped at the Gettysburg Casino, it would be shut down very quickly.
Perhaps the owners would even burn it to the ground for us seeking insurance money for cover their losses.
