CBS news, and the decline of civilization
Edward R. Murrow. Mr serious and Mr intelligent and Mr knowledgeable.

Walter Cronkite. Mr honest. Mr truth.

Dan Rather. Mr in the trenches trying to figure things out. Mr daring at a time when no others would tell the truth.

Katie Couric. Ms morning show entertainment. Ms never been in the trenches, Ms Poster Girl for nonserious. Ms honesty and truth? How about Ms "Let's see the ratings, Mr"

What an unsurprising turn of events, and how sad.

Anyone who gets their "news" from tv today is either sucking up nonstop propaganda, or only wants to hear how Britney's breasts have changed after having children.

rant over

1. I threw a wreath on that grave years ago.

3. I haven't watched CBS since Dan left. There is really nothing
left in American TV news to watch. I will be looking forward to LinkTV's launch of a regular news program next year. Right now I watch "Journal" and "Mosaic" on that channel at 7 p.m. PDT, I guess it's on at 11 p.m. EDT.

5. I personally don't support any government that
denies basic human rights to others, and don't think I have ever posted an opinion in which I stated that I did.

I can see leaders from other countries attempting to form alliances against what they see as threats.

I love my country, and want to see it through the darkness that it is now enmeshed in. I hope to be around when the light shines again on our democracy and where all here have the opportunity to shine as good citizens.

7. Why are you assuming that if I say I disagree

with Bush's policies in the ME that I am automatically propping up Ahmadinejad and Assad? And why are you trying to put people in the position of issuing a disclaimer?

And by the way, do YOU support Bush's policy of rendition and torture?
