Did AAR Lie to Malloy?
Are they the kind of business folks who will dangle a contract, knowing full well they are going to fire you?

If so, then to hell with them. It's this worship of business thast is killing this country. They can do whatever they want to us, and all we can do is smile and nod in agreement.

I hope they are not liars, but if they are, they do not deserve to stay in business.

1. Maybe they were far apart in numbers.
We just don't know what the story is. Engaging in negotiations when you do not intend to enter into a contract wastes time and money. I kind of doubt that they entered negotiations in bad faith. Something happened along the way, is my guess.

2. One can hope
I guess. I am tired of doing things out of "duty". I am not going to listen to AAR anymore, I was winnowing off anyway. Franken has been dull since he went solo, Springer is a nice guy but boring, Randi seems too self-involved anymore, Seader's ok, but bored me. Mike was passionet and funney, and yes angry.

We all should be.

4. You are correct-This shit that they are a "business" Scruples, honesty
Edited on Wed Aug-30-06 06:03 PM by LaPera
and doing the right thing are more important...If these fucks at AAR prove to be the assholes I'm betting they are...Then how would these ruthless bastards be any different than the republicans who would sell out their mothers for a few extra bucks.

Then you know they would give a shit about what's truly progressive or not...just the bucks matter...If it found to be true...

7. Get fucking real! They schedule Malloy for a week as replacement
Edited on Wed Aug-30-06 06:14 PM by LaPera
for Randi and then fire him after the second day stating "financial reasons" ...they didn't know about the finances when they scheduled him?

Are they getting pressure from taking Malloy along to the new mother station in New York that starts up in a few days?

Why did they sign Malloy to a new contract is that some fucking game, another fucking shortsightedness on AAR's part?

Did Malloy say something they didn't like, as if they knew he wasn't outspoken?

Do they think they are going to make more money with someone else in Malloy's time slot?

All interesting questions...Only someone who would start a thread to jump on the bandwagon would accuse someone else of doing the same!!!

Let's eat our own. What a great idea. C'mom everybody, let's all boycott! So what if AAR is THE ONLY lefty voice in A-Murka? We're pissed and we demand purity! No Mike? They're HISTORY.

8. Oh so the contract wasn't final
on Mike's site now don't think this was here on the original 2:30 posting

We are as shocked as you are, especially since as recently as last Tuesday we were told we had the go-ahead to announce our return to NY airwaves and that our contract was "on the way."

Anyway looks like the contract wasn't final and that's how AAR is getting out of this
