As a former radio guy who "got the shaft" I feel for Mr. Malloy. Radio is a fun business but cruel as hell and the decisions often made by a roomful of clueless suits. That being said, man we can be as bad as the MSM on here somedays. There is still other shit going on in the world can we combine a few of these hundred threads?

Seriously, I always hope that people would post in a common thread, but it almost never happens here. People just don't scan for existing threads when they have something to say. I guess it's the nature of the beast.

Mike was the guy who shouted "I can't take it anymore" through the window. He is the average working class angry progressive American. The Union guy. He is different.

Here in Europe he showed up at 4 in the morning, so I missed him often. I am going to miss him even more.

I found Mike Malloy because of DU long before AAR existed and the first show I ever heard was the show about the Maine lobster men spying on each other to protect us from terrorists - I laughed so hard and thought to myself who the hell is this guy - I'm very happy I came to learn exactly who Mike Malloy and Kathy are - I do believe at times they have saved my sanity......

I have to say when emotions are as high as they are right now for Mike Malloy fans - it is actually pretty stupid to say shitty stuff about Mike - it makes no sense - I think if you don't like Mike fine - but at this moment in time keep your trap shut - people are VERY upset - and do these people think if they point out Mike's flaws that Mike's fans will say oh yeah I've been listening to him for years but your post just convinced me Mike is a total ass hole - what was I thinking....see no point to shitty Mike comments but to pour fuel on a fire....or salt in the wound.

I wasn't making any comment on Mike Malloy's importance or talent or how shitty the deal he just got was. Believe me I understand too well how radio can use up talented people and cast them aside like trash. I apologize to anyone I offended I was just pointing out the absurdity of a board that vilifies the MSM for being oversaturated with one story doing the same to itself. Peace all. Mike, good luck. I admit I never got to take the time to listen to your show but you've obviously had a profound impact on many and you should be very proud of that. No one can take that away from you.

I just had a friend, who is literally a local radio legend himself resign from his station because of creative differences with the new owners and the outcry here is also great but it's frustrating to know that my friends fans and unfortunately Mr. Malloy's will probably fall on the deaf ears of "marketing strategists" who have made up their minds.
